New Mooney owner

Greetings all!

Just wanted to make my introduction and say hello. I love the info on this site and I know it will be very useful to be able to poll all of your Mooney expertise.

I bought my first plane last month. A M20c serial number 1974. She has 3300 TT and1200 SMOH. So far I only have 6 hours in her but I am in love. I have only cessna 172 time so this is like a rocket comparatively. Looking forward to upgrading some radios in the very near future and start working on that IFR ticket and making some great XC trips.

Welcome!!! You're going to love your mooney! You and I are on the same track. All I had was 172 time when I bought mine last September. Going to be working on my ifr ticket real soon. Looks like you got yourself a very nice airplane. Congratulations and wish you many happy hours of flying!

another congrats.  Some of us are long time mooney owners, but there are many like me that transitioned from 172s and cherokees.  I have never missed flying the other planes.

Again, welcome!  As a newcomer myself, it is great to see an active site.  I had C150 and Stinson 108 time when I started flying a J-model in 1977 - but the aircraft handled so well the transition was an easy one.  Enjoy!

Nice to have another M20C to chat with. I just bought mine to, although it belonged to a close friend who wanted me to have it. I'm installing a new interior and have found a wealth of info here. I really like this site and love Mooneys!

Welcome to our Mooney family.  When I saw your photo I knew it had to be the Pacific Northwest. That is where I learned to fly [Hood River/The Dalles] and I purchased my Mooney in Washington state.  Just in case you are not a member of MAPA our professional organization, please consider joining.

The OP's mooney is a 63 or 64.  His serial # is 1974.  I thought the same thing until I saw the pic of his plane.

Actually it is a 62 model year, but it was built in 61. Mine is actually listed as a 61 mooney in the FAA database.
