N201MKTurbo Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 I don’t know much about it. I don’t think anybody was hurt. I was told it was a stall while practicing short field takeoffs. Plane hit off the end of the runway and skidded across the ramp. 1 Quote

pwnel Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 Awful close to that self-serve fuel tank...... 2 Quote
carqwik Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) Wow...good thing no one was fueling at that time. Imagine sitting in the restaurant there watching this unfold...yikes! Glad all are ok. Edited September 14, 2019 by carqwik Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted September 14, 2019 Author Report Posted September 14, 2019 The cabin is in remarkable condition after a fairly decent crash. 1 Quote

I was up flying when it happened. They have been doing a lot of repaving on the ramp lately so most of the planes were moved to the north 40 and haven't moved back yet. I know - not to make light but no one is hurt... with the two of them standing around looking at that wing I can just see the bubble text above one of their heads saying, I think it might be bent. Do you think it’s bent? Quote
Shadrach Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 The damage looks as though it did half a cartwheel. 3 Quote
fantom Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 So much for the transition training and flight review. Perhaps a forgiving, fixed gear, Cirrus would have been a better choice. Quote
SantosDumont Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 1 bounce ok, 2 bounces, go around, 3 bounces and well... this is what happens. Quote

Doesn’t sound like THAT was the scenario though... Glad the ramp was clear of activity and appears only metal bent. As someone that ALSO had his only incident while under instruction I feel for the pilot. That is one STEEP friggin’ learning curve. Definition of a BAD DAY... 3 Quote
rbridges Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 At least it's a newer model. Hopefully it's worth fixing and not destined for spare parts. Quote
Yetti Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 I don't think that is how you are supposed to park them. 1 Quote
ArtVandelay Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 At least it's a newer model. Hopefully it's worth fixing and not destined for spare parts. New wing, new engine, new prop...it’s gonna be close.Tom 1 Quote
chriscalandro Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 How do you log that in the flight review section? Quote
Andy95W Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 Maybe there was a Comanche 400 taxiing to the fuel pump, and he didn't want to wait an hour for him to refuel... 2 2 Quote
201er Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 At least there’s a good service center on the field. But how did it get all that way sideways from the runway to the pumps? That’s a good distance. 1 Quote

bonal Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 Nobody hurt, great news. New owners pride and joy heavily damaged. Totally sucks. Making jokes is a little harsh don't you think. 6 Quote
