It's an amazing flying machine and a great relief during these Covid times but we are likely to head back to Europe at some point this year and I'm not sure the 252 will fit my mission profile over there so I'm thinking about selling over the next few months.

Please post your birds attributes.

Lots of Mooneys have travelled to Europe...

One Mooney flys across the pond once or twice each year...

Something to consider...

:)

Selling a 252 this year will not be too challenging...

1.  Don't do it.

2.  If you must offload the K and if you really twist my arm I would do a fellow MSer a solid and swap you straight up for my C.  Same color scheme :)

It’s a great time to sell a 252 and you’ll probably make out very well. IIRC this one has the 480 gps/nav/com which is a great unit IMO.

Correct and I love it.

@carusoam I'm considering that but over there, I know I will have much less time to fly (and would rather have a FIKI bird).

Almost nobody has FIKI in Europe and yet we fly IFR all seasons.  You have a turbocharger and a hot prop, which is all you could want.  Except when you really need to commute on a fixed schedule of course.  UK-southern France is pretty routine, except for the high terrain at the end.

If you have a plane you know and that works for you, perhaps the $70k for adding TKS to it is a better proposition then selling it and looking for "something"...

@tmo I looked into that too and actually got a quote from CAV for TKS or FIKI but as mentioned, over there I know I will have much less time to fly so I'm thinking joining a partnership or a club could be smarter than bringing the Mooney over.

Are all 252s eligible?

This one is (I checked with the MSC). I’m not sure whether or not there are restrictions e.g. for the very early ones. It’s a Mooney factory mod, not a STC.

I don't see the KAS-297B in the pictures of the panel. Am I missing something?

Up above he mentioned that it's in the center console, I guess down below.
