  1. 115 today. When I was at Laughlin AFB I would ride at 100 or less. No problem. Still CHS is better than the line from JAN-MGM-CSG-MCN-AGS-CAE-CLT. Too far from the water for any moderating and still not enough elevation or latitude. The pine trees sweat. Get up early and all is well around 8000'. Enjoy the 4th.
  2. Infinity quoted me 16 hours for a pre-buy. They borescope.
  3. Thanks for the input. Any recommendations in MHT/Nashua?
  4. Thinking about using these folks for a pre-buy. Any opinions?
  5. KLRO, Mt Pleasant, near CHS is somewhere over 5 years. When I last checked, the county hangars were $350 and a row of private hangars were $450. I don't recall how someone built them. Space is a premium due to wetlands around the airport. Supposedly, the airport commission has been planning on new hangars for years. No clue on when they will actually break ground.
  6. Diesel is up about $.50 in less than a week in CHS.
  7. Or 2? https://www.saveur.com/two-fat-ladies-best-food-tv-show/
  8. I'm guessing hand-prop that got away. Possibly a mechanical failure.
  9. In any language. It isn't going to be cheap, easy or fast.
  10. Day-yum! That's with 2 syllables if you aren't Southern.
  11. There was one in KMHP 25 years ago. I recall that particular example had extensive rot. I don't know if it's indicative of the model.
  12. Still, no replacement for displacement!
  13. I'll defer to Clarence when he checks in. Until then, if you can, I'd try to fly some patterns get everything moving and warm then change and check the oil and filter. Do you have an engine monitor?
  14. There is a thread here about idle engines. Your concern is rusty bits inside the engine. I know it's a seller's market, but it would be prudent to price it with a run-out engine. It sounds like a great barn find, but you'll need a fair bit of reserve cash for likely contingencies. Best of luck! Also, I'd probably be willing to pay the seller to have it delivered. The engine would be my main concern.
  15. Good looking and very well equipped. GLWS!
  16. If that tops your stupid list, you are better than most. Turn on 121.5 and see how many airlines give arrival and gate information. It's also fairly popular to do the same thing on ground control. I'd consider all of that a "brain cramp" vs stupid. If you haven't done it yet, give it time. You will. Fortunately, most controllers have seen it enough and don't get too excited. Stupid is more like flying under a bridge. Not recommended.
  17. Sometimes you just hold your breath and write the check. The downside is you are into your current J for probably more than you can get. I suppose you just need to accept the delta and look at where you'd be with an O/S. Thinking while I'm typing, contact GMAX and tell him what you want and when he gets it he calls you and brokers your J.
  18. I think it's another engine. I found the old ad. It was around 1900 hours and $159K. Assuming everything is above board, may not be a bad deal. I'm going to pass.
  19. Not to handicap a legitimate seller, but the Ovation from Myrtle Beach is back on the market. It has a modified paint job and apparently another engine. I don't know why it sat for so long in the first place and this may be a good value, but something appeared to be a miss in the earlier ad. Good luck, for both parties.
  20. I always make sure there are sick-sacks if I'm not flying solo. I even keep a gallon zip-loc with a couple of paper towels as a backup. In 30+ years I've only had two in a GA airplane. Bags on both occasions and no cleaning.
  21. Time to move to Kansas!
