Well the fun is over. Had a call from Mooney. I did not take the call personally, as Mooney called my families restaurant, but I was asked (told) to cease and desist, my snooping. My apologies to Mooney if I have caused any ill effect as that was not my desire.

Snooping?! You don't know anything, you said there was an announcement coming, it didn't come. You remind me of stock analysts that predict the market fall, eventually it does years later and they proudly say they predicted it.

You are just propagating rumors, I'm with factory on this one.

I agree. I don't know anything. I for sure don't know enough. I do know what I saw, and what I have been told. I was under the impression that the announcment was soon. I certainly took the information that way. I'm sorry to disappoint. 

The fact that the phone call even came, speaks to me to shut up.

Anyone notice that Mooney isn't advertising the Acclaim in their print ads, just the Ovation?  I met their CEO at the Reno Air Races and I was saying I want to get an Acclaim in a few years.  He said something like, yeah, you could get an Acclaim, or something else, we might be making some changes...  He elaborated it would still be like the Type S, just improved...

Do not work for the Factory. Just a local pilot whose father was an engineer for Mooney in the early days, Who happens to know a lot about Mooney. Who got lucky talking to a few Mooney shirted folks that were in town for Meeting. Who got luckier spying something that didn't look right while doing T&G's  in  the rented Cessna. Who started asking questions and got feedback. Who was then contacted (not personally, through family) by the factory to shut up.

I don't know enough. My fault for not vetting my announcement info.

I should kill this thread I guess.

Proves one thing, Mooney is paying attention to this web site  Maybe next time they role something out in public view they should do the fancy weird paint schemes that the auto industry has to do to prevent journalist from taking pictures of the future models

As for telling someone to shut up at least for now they are in the wrong country for that.
