Hey guys, got out of car to take a pick of my plane for a friend who didn't know what a "Mooney" was and it turned out kinda cool. After looking at the pic, I got to thinking that  I am seeing a trend here:

Efficient:
Mooney - 'nuff said.
C5: 80 MPH 32 MPG (seriously) awesome traveling machine.

Great economics:
Mooney - $$ for well equipped F model that would be $$$$ for brands C or B to duplicate capabilities
6 speed, '97 C5, basic model un-modified - $9K,  it is typically about the least expensive vehicle in the parking lot.

Sporty:
Mooney - 'nuff said
Vette - :)

.....that got me further thinking....I wonder what my buddies on MS pair up with their Mooney.  Anyone else game to post their favorite vehicle w/ their favorite plane and tell us why you dig 'em (try to get them both in the same shot if you can)????? I'll go first:

I have my M20J and a Cadlliac CTS-V.   I like that match-up.    It's not that different than your M20F/C5, except I can seat four in the car, too.  ;)

Thought I had a picture of the plane and bike. The car is parked in the taxi area, so close enough?. When the weather is cloudy these were option 2. This is why we love our Mooney.. It's all about the speed :)

Showing true Mooney CB status...spend thousands to fly round trip from home in SoCal to Virginia (Hampton Roads Airport, KPVG) and then get the cheapest rental clown car they offered.

I have driven so many different cars and motorcycles over the years it's hard to pick just one.  But these two come close - 650+ hp Red '79 Mustang and my "Barcalounger on Wheels" '08 Ultra Glide Classic - both give me a thrill like my Mooney...(and my Hatz)

RV-4

It has the Mooney beat in about all aspects, except seating, which is occasionally important.

Nice, two of my favorites.  Have been shopping for a project RV-3 or 4 for a while.  Seeing that you can squeeze it into a standard T is good news, but how do you safely do it?  Does the tail wheel just sit on the wing or do you have some sort of fixture?

1977 M20J and a twin turbo 2009 BMW 335i. The plane is heavily worked on as detailed in other threads and so is the car. ~475 AWHP and a 12.01 quarter mile. Ought to do until I can get me a fast car. But it hauls dogs and pulls a trailer adequately. It also did 140MPH on the straight portion at Texas World Speedway.

Both should do 201 MPh but only one has been verified as of yet.

2008 Acclaim Type S and 2009 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.

Both have twin turbos and both are fast!

I like I like.

The tailwheel doesn't touch the wing but the -4 lower fuselage sits on a stack of moving blankets atop the Mooney wing. I'm guessing mine is a little larger than most t-hangars, though I've never measured. The engineer in me (previous career) did model the hangar and each aircraft before purchasing the Mooney, just to be sure they would both fit and it's kinda tight, but doable.

Since we don't have any kids, I concider these as my children 1967 427/435 roadster and my 1966 M20C.  The second picture also shows my first little bird 1973 C150L.  My wife said something had to go (me or one of the kids) . . . Just kidding
