Mooney Flyer online magazine is doing a reboot of their KPRB Fly-In June 28-29, 2024.

Too bad it's not right before or after the MAPA PPP @ KSMX.   But that's in early April.

11 1/2 hours 150 gallons 2135 straight line. Gotta figure out a way.

Hey neighbor.  We are based pretty close together.

No wind I would be 12 hours and about 130 gallons.

Nowhere is too far in a Mooney :-)

1700+ NM, and some big, tall rocks that will keep my little C from taking that short path . . . .

Call it 13-14 hours and ~120 gallons going, and a little less on the return. That'd be two days going out, and a possible single long day coming home if the winds are nice.

If we can’t find a partner maybe we could hitch up. My wife generally goes but there’s no casinos in Texas, may limit her enthusiasm

For Dan, that used to be a single fill up…

not sure if his Acclaim has the same max fuel capacity…. :)

Gotta love José’s extend fuel tanks!

Best regards,

Any idea if there is lodging near the airport?  Ground transportation?  Rental cars if there’s a large turnout ?  Or do most folks fly out same day ?

ok didn't realize the same organization. looking forward to it this year

A lot of the same people attend, but the Mooney Summit and MooneyMax are separate organizations; the Mooney Flyer was put together by the (former?) Vintage Mooney Group in California.

it's not, the Mooney Summit is a 501c3 charity that is established to provide education and support downed Mooney pilots families. Mooney Max and Mooney flyer are different completely and organized by different people. Camaraderie is a common deliverable by all, however

There are many hotels in the area and the FBO arranges rental cars (at least they did last time I was there).  I plan to arrive on Friday and stay until Sunday.
