Wow wish I would have known. I spent a couple days there in November. I could have put "bought Carusoam lunch" in my logbook.

And for giggles, the Grim Reaper, Stinky Pants and me could have stopped over.

Somewhere on that wall at Princeton of “you just soloed” T shirt tails is mine.

That airport has quite a history. I met the grandmother the Friday I was there.

It does have a history. I think the same family still owns it. I left the area in 1990. They had quite a fleet of planes and were a 141 school. I plowed through my private.

I had to do the power off 180 spot landing at 39N for commercial checkride.

My first flying book I read…. Anyone Can Fly.  It had a picture of 39N from back in the day…. A big square field in a B&W photo… 
 

The family that owns 39N started in the business by operating a neighboring airport known as Kupper field… Kupper has been renamed to Central Jersey…

The third generation is in their 20s… one of them set up a zoom video flight training that I sat through a few months back…  their flight simulators are pretty as well…  no more film CPC strips…   Cessna pilot center.

I happened into the place signing up for a discovery flight somewhere in the early 90s… In a nicely worn in C152…

Nice airport.

Nice people.

Nice place to learn to fly.

Nice place to buy a Mooney!  (I got my M20C there)

Since then, the runway has been replaced, Longer and wider…

Been there so long… the runway got renumbered because magnetic north slipped too many degrees….

Plenty of farm fields in central Jersey. In fact I owned a 7 acre farmette 18 minutes from Princeton. Plenty of fields to plow.

And there is that too. Learning to fly at a 141 school with 15 some planes on the line led to some rushed landings and carrier landings.

That happened at the airpark in texas were i grew up on, so you don’t have to be up north for the change just takes 40 years
