I may be announcing a purchase here in this very thread, very soon. Other than say its an E model, I'm not giving away any details yet. I've been on forums before when purchasing and had other members try to undercut or steal my deal with details of the aircraft I posted. Once its under contract (probably tonight). I'll post. I had to post something now though. I'm too excited

Best of luck, and we all hope you've got a good one. Remember, this isn't POA. I don't think anyone here has been anything but helpful to members trying to find the right Mooney. Some of us can be a bit cranky at times, but I can't think of a case where someone has bought a Mooney out from under another member.  But it is true that members on this board have helped people avoid bad purchases several times.

But hey, best of luck. Hope you get a good one and we'll fly with you sometime.

Looking forward to pictures and a full write up.

Damn, that's exactly the place it happened too. Good call.

I'm just waiting on his approval of the overall purchase agreement, when he approves, I'll sign and send a deposit. Step 2 is write up here and follow-along write ups with the inspection.

Purchase agreement signed so I'll post up pictures.

Provided the annual, in-depth records review and any other "pre-buy" inspection I want are okay. This is now mine. I bought it very quick. I've noticed these things moved quick at around this price point and this has exactly what I wanted (as far as avionics goes). Secondly the engine is mid-time and according to the logs is in good shape with no issues. Finally as a bonus, its also cosmetically good. The engine is being run regularly (no idle sitting time) and has nothing showing any leaks in the fuel tanks or oil burn/leaks.

I wasn't willing to compromise much on having some sort of visual GPS that is IFR ready, and relatively cheap to incorporate an ADS-B upgrade. I also wanted at minimum a wing level and the other goodies you see.

I'm currently deployed but will be home in 60 days. He's agreed to keep it hangered if I split his costs until then.  I've been watching for birds with my specific requirements and I'm seeing some C models disappear quick at this price point and almost equally equipped. So when I saw this I jumped on it.

Very nice pictures.

One thing to be aware of...  MS is open to everyone.  Which includes people that are not even signed up as members...

It is good to be aware of what you post in public places.

writing a purchase agreement with the seller makes the most sense regarding getting things lined up there.

Good luck landing the big bird and getting back in country at the same time!

Best regards,

I looked really hard at this one since it used to live here in town and was maintained at Weber.

Claremont is right down the road from me. Let me know if you need any help getting things set up on this end before you get back.

Too many aircraft with the same color scheme, 24 nm due north to KMQS we can rectify your situation :)

Congrats on your acquisition.

Some of us don't have to worry about finding the right plane on the flight line . . . .

Already on my mind. One reason I wanted the visual GPS is its "cheaper" to upgrade to ADSB. Cheaper meaning the southern side of $10k for in and out.

Another upgrade I'm interested in is the paint. I'm more of darker color/blue/grey/black kinda guy.

Speaking in loose ballpark figures, what does a paint job run?

Roughly, for a fancy one, about the same as a STEC30 autopilot. :o

Good luck with the PPI and welcome to MS!

I do. I had a 1956 172 there for a couple of years. Used to fly out of 0w3, even though I live in PA, then switched to 58M. If you ask Roger about "the guy who's deployed" he'll know who you're talking about

@gitmo234. We have manpower and infrastructure for painting bigger OEM aircraft on a time schedule.  So we are high quality & fast, but may be a little more expensive than a smaller shop.  We also have capacity to insert most jobs of this size pretty quick in our schedule.  That being said, for a single engine piston, there is a box you have to be in, so we price accordinly.  I'll shoot youna PM.  We do paint, interiors, and avionics, so we could do your ADS-B as well.

Another nice thing where you are based, Weber aircraft is also a close flight if you need a MSE.  They did a bunch of work on my J including my PPI.  Great shop.
