Are these available to watch later? I like to download webinars on my iPad and listen to them while I drive.

They will be in the near future. I will post where to find them once they are available.

I watched the YouTube of the webinar and downloaded the simulator on my iPad.  Much more intuitive than I'm used to.  It's very hard to "mess up" something during an active flight plan and multiple approaches and holds were seamless.   It was even super fast and efficient to change map settings or data fields and flip between that page and the map when I was simulating an approach.   Very, very nice interface.

The reason I was watching the Avidyne Webinar is that I've committed to installing the IFD540 in my K model; she goes in on 13 June for a couple weeks' worth of work.

Over the years, I've had 430s and 430Ws and always tried to learn all I could about the unit before installation. My experience with those apps was abysmal, and I ended up learning more from the manual and other pilots than from the app.

Now the Avidyne is in my future, and I reluctantly downloaded the iPad and the PC apps. WOW! Look, Ma, they work. It's just like the real thing, except you can't grab the knobs with your fingers. Everything works just like it should, and by the time I sit down in the cockpit with my 540 for the first time, there shouldn't be any surprises. You also can download the POH for the box, and you can learn in greater detail.

Additionally, there are YouTube videos if you're interested, some quick vignettes on a single subject like entering a flight plan or using the Bluetooth keyboard, or pinch zoom. Those can be found at www.ifd540.com.

All-in-all, I'm impressed with Avidyne's decision to get as much information as possible to users of the two GPS units. I'm looking forward to flying with mine.

The usual disclosure is extant here: I have no relationship with Avidyne except as a soon-to-be customer.

How do you activate the wifi and Bluetooth on the IFD440? I'm also not getting gps signal to my Skytrax100. Avidyne tech is closed for the weekend thought someone might know my issues.

1) If your IFD440 was purchased with WiFi and Bluetooth you'll see the screen at start up that you must agree to accept WiFi and Bluetooth. About six months after they introduced the IFD440 they dropped the price to be competitive to the Garmin GTN650, but no longer was WiFi and Bluetooth standard, there is a $999 unlock fee.

WiFi and Bluetooth are standard on the IFD540 and 550.

2) Is your Mooney outside in clear view of the sky and is the status page of the IFD440 showing a GPS position?   I'm not sure if it gets a GPS lock in maintenance mode.

I do have Bluetooth because I've synced my keyboard to it forgot about that. But I don't have the menu that comes up at every start up. Maybe they still activated the Bluetooth but not the wifi. I'll go through that thread. Thank you

Where did you find this setting and how did you change it? The Skytrax doesn't have a display.

I have but there isn't the option there to turn it on. I called Avidyne this morning and they said when I did the 10.2 update it "cancels" the wifi, Bluetooth, and the forward looking data. They emailed me the program now I just need to download it back to it IFD440.

The picture I posted of the computer screen is the UAT or Skytrax100 computer program. It's the console software that programmed it. You can tell the axp322 and Skytrax100 what to do and for what airplane or N# and data they are to transmit. There is a setting in the program that you tell the Skytrax100 where to get its gps data from and I had to tell it to get it from the IFD440. I can list more pictures of the program if you're curious?
