my ubg-16 engine monitor display quit today.  Worked fine last week, no display today.  The flashing "alarm" light worked when I turned on the master switch (cold engine warning), so I know it's working.

I'm going to call EI monday to see what my options are.  The whole analyzer costs 1250 from spruce, so I don't want to pay something ridiculous to repair it.

Just curious if anyone has dealt with them on a repair.  Thanks.

My only experience with them was reprogramming a 6 cylinder tach so it could be used on a 4 cylinder and set up the alarms. They only charged $65 for that which I thought was reasonable.

Their prices are very reasonable, at least in my experience. Quoted about $80 to check my FP-5L a few years ago, ended up finding a loose wire though and didn't need to send it out. Also recently benched checked my MUX-8A and found no problem. Including shipping and a new download cable everything was only $83.

just got off the phone with them.  Really great customer support (so far).  They said to send in the display, and the most they will charge is $225 regardless of the problem(s).

They are a good group to deal with. Glad it is working out for you.

After finding out about L3's flat rate repair for their stormscopes....

If your L3 and stormscope experience is in another thread I missed it. What is their flat rate?

I suspect my 1000+ processor is bad, and I don't believe avionics shops have test equipment or repair capabilities for it.

Why do you suspect your WX-1000+ processor is bad... are you getting any error messages?

Blank screen, after checking power supply voltages to indicator points to processor issue, or so my avionics buddy tells me.

Display had been intermittent in the past. Beats me.

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say you have something to do with Stormscopes... :) if so, again, just a wild guess, I'm looking for a remote 500 to interface with my Aspens. Whatcha got?

I spent $1200 to repair a WX900 August 2012. Avionics shop removed and sent it to the "factory" Price includes cost to r/r. There were several problems including a bad display. As I recall they wound up charging their "not to exceed" quote.
