Hallelujah!  I hope this is not an April Fools joke!

if it is true, it makes sense that it took someone other than Bendix King to get it done.

I would also like this to.become available at a decent price.

Here's a link from last week, scroll about halfway down the page, followed by much commentary.

Wouldn’t this be considered ancient technology now?

is it really that much cheaper than a gfc500?

If you wanted to keep an all BK panel…

This would be a nice update…

Since their WAAS GPS aged on the vine and never took off….

Fewer and fewer people are interested in their all BK panels anymore…

Rebranded hardware sold as BK stuff… has had other aging, unfinished challenges, poorly supported challenges as well…

In this case, the AP manufacturer… sold itself to BK… so it’s not really rebranded… and it isn’t really BK…. No connection to the KAPs and KFCs…

Did I slip a chicken restaurant reference in there?

Keep both eyes open, but don’t expect very much for an all Big G panel….

G and BK have very little interest in supporting the connection of their devices with each other…. Leaving their customers holding the bag…

PP thoughts only, not an avionics tech…

Best regards,

I spoke with Duncan this afternoon.

I know a few folks there because I take the company CL300 there for work and a strip and paint 2 years ago.

Anyway I received an email from them with the pricing and BK controls the pricing.

They said that its for all M20 models. The M20D my buddy owns and I work on has a full dual 10" Dynon HDX and my opinion is that Dynon will not get their A/P out by the end of the year if at all for the short body M20.  At this time this is his back up A/P install.

From Duncan:

Was there any talk about what the install would cost?

I really didn’t ask as I will be doing the install for it if my friend goes that route or the Dynon route for that matter.

I had a buddy do the 3” round install in his Cardinal. This was when it was still TruTrak. He was very proud of it, and I don’t blame him. It was a very nice and seemed functional autopilot. However, it seemed very cheaply made. He had it for less than 2 weeks and the buttons were already loose. I could see them vibrating during flight. It was always squawking about something so he was continuously making adjustments. I’m not saying G would be any better but from the reports I’m hearing, the extra $1300 is most likely worth it. Just my thoughts.
