Planegary Posted September 14, 2019 Author Report Posted September 14, 2019 No I didn’t pay 15.5. I paid a little over 9 4
Planegary Posted September 14, 2019 Author Report Posted September 14, 2019 The blue color is cobalt blue the same as comes on corvettes 1
bonal Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 I'd like to see more pics. Love the blue as for the accent stripes they kind of give it a nice abstract tension and a little different than the same as everyone else's curved graphics.
Planegary Posted September 14, 2019 Author Report Posted September 14, 2019 Thanks. I tried to make it simple and classy when I put the scheme together. I will get more photos when I get it back out of the hanger but am about to head out to work so I will be gone for several days but will post as soon as I take pics
RLCarter Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 @Planegary can post or send in a pm the paint shops info, I have a 172 that's in need of painting

Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 Ok am home and caught up on chores and so here are a few photos of my plane 5
ChrisV Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 I like it. I really wanna see pics in flight. 1
Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 Will do. I don’t think the iPhone camera does the blue justice. As soon as the vacuum pump is replaced and I get home from NEXT tour photos will be posted... if I can find someone quick enough to keep up with me. :-)
steingar Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 For 15 grand you were robbed. For 9 grand that's a gorgeous Mooney. Congrats.
chriscalandro Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 I'd pay 9k for that. Like I said before, the original child's drawing wasn't a great representation. Hell, my Mooney desperately needs paint. I might just do a simple STRAIGHT LINE design and let him do it. 1
Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 He does nice work and if you want more complex you order the mask and hand it to humor tell him to add a mask to the paint job price
EricJ Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 Your airplane is always going to be very recognizable to folks here. That's something. It's got a good shine to it.
Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 Thank you. Now to get out and meet start meeting everybody 1
RobertGary1 Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 If you repaint the plane do you have to go to the larger N numbers? -Robert
RobertGary1 Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 “On an aircraft displaying 2-inch marks before November 1, 1981, and on aircraft manufactured between November 2, 1981, and January 1, 1983, you may display those marks until the aircraft is repainted or the marks are repainted, restored, or changed. Once the aircraft is repainted or the marks are repainted, restored, or changed, the N-number is required to be 12 inches high.” https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/Advisory_Circular/AC_45-2E.pdf
RogueOne Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 I really like the blue. It is beautiful. I am picking up what Byron is laying down on the side accents. Not my thing, but NOT my plane. Compared to my ‘66 original paint? You look marvelous! Enjoy.
MATTS875 Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 I like the colors. I think you got a great deal and your happy. That’s all that matters. Enjoy
MikeOH Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 Price matters. $9K for that is a smokin' good deal 1

ArtVandelay Posted September 28, 2019 Report Posted September 28, 2019 But it wasn’t 9K! Executive summary:Mesa quoted Cody $15,500. He never said his paint job cost was until later, he said he paid a little over $9000.Tom 1

How does it look after 5 plus years. If it lasts then yes its a great deal.
