I've already spent my budget this year figuring Trutrak would be very late - guess I'll start saving up just in case it happens before the end of the year...

Gotta annual coming up so that will have to be first...

I dunno about your J, but my C doesn't have electric trim, just the manual wheel on my seat.

My J has it and the Century III autopilot does automatic adjustment with it.   It's a nice feature I'd like to retain, but perhaps not available.   :(

Hopefully they didn’t charge your CC.

They don't on "back ordered" items until it ships.   The rest of the order I placed got charged and a ship date provided, but this still just shows as "Waiting on Hold".

They are on the verge of releasing the Mooney version.

How far from the verge are they now? Or are we supposed to order from Spruce hoping that it will be released so they can gage the level of interest in the field???

I still have my order in for one at Spruce.   No word yet, and I'll update if I hear anything.

I also have an order in for B&C starter, which is also apparently unobtanium right now.   We'll see which one I get first.

Yup, rumored to be in the hands of the feds.. That seems to be the story of several manufactures, the common denominator is our wonderful government agency.

Hopeful one day to have an affordable non-G autopilot

What ever happened to the days one could actually walk into a GADO office and request to see an Inspector in person?  :-)

(For you younger pilots GADO= General Aviation District Office of the FAA    FSDO forerunner. )

I'm from the FSDO days, but i used to get all kinds of field approvals. The last couple simple ones I tried, I realize times have changed.

It’s November 2021 so I’m sure dozens of TT/Aerocruz autopilots have been sold and installed in Mooneys right?

Side note, this has to be one of the record threads on Mooneyspace.

I’m just doing my part to keep the dream/thread alive.

Speaking with Andrew  on another matter, he mentioned that the Moomey STC application has ben with the FAA now for a couple of months, and they have not asked for anything further since..

Hoping and waiting..

Also... in the Piper world, there is some motion in getting the AP approved for IFR Coupled Approaches...

Seems little is getting done there...  :(

Question-

What is it about "the office" at FAA  that requires attendance there to get work done?

Millions of folks today work remotely and get stuff done none-the-less.

Good question for them.   Apparently it has been cited as a barrier for getting some local things that usually happen done.

…and it’s December. Who’s getting a TruTrak/Aerocruz for Christmas?

Me! Me! For Christmas 20XX . . . . .

Not expecting one for Christmas this year. I’m convinced the faa has zero interest in approving anything for anyone. Their sole priority right now is changing anything aviation to be more “inclusive”.

Since its looking promising (I think) I messaged the STC group about the timing for their Trio setup. The reply I got was a very apologetic ETA of late next year. Apparently they have a couple of other projects first.

Now, the question is who to believe, and whether to wait for the Trio which looks like a lot nicer product.

Possible Trio will beat Tru Trak to it in the end.
