While inspecting my plane, I removed a few interior panels.  It looks like carpet with a firm plastic backer.  They are held together with an adhesive, but since it's been 18 years since the interior was installed, the adhesive failed in a few places.  I'd like to reglue these areas.  Is there anything I can get from Lowe's?

cool.  I didn't know if there were any flammability concerns with the adhesives.

Most of the flammability is associated with the solvents.  In most cases the once the solvent evaporates the adhesive shouldn't be very flammable.

Flammability concerns really aren't that great because the flammable compounds evaporate during the drying process.

For large areas where decent (but not great) adhesion is required, standard contact cement available at Lowes works well, as does the 3M spray adhesive available there or at automotive stores.

For smaller areas where you need better adhesion, use the 3M super weatherstrip adhesive available at automotive stores.  It is available in a tube.

For larger areas where you need very strong adhesion, you should use 3M 1300L, available in larger cans.
