dcrogers11 Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 After the panel was completed, as in my previous thread, my '64C arrived at Aero Comfort in SAT for the upholstery install. Hector and crew did their magic and I can't be happier with their work. Time to just fly the plane and enjoy going some places. Regards, Don 12 Quote
BigTex Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Hector is definitely the magic man... Looks fantastic! Thanks for flying your plane forward. Quote
Lood Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Fantastic! Makes me wonder why I want to own a "newer" airplane, when a vintage model can be made to look just as good!! 4 Quote
ryoder Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Beautiful. Would love to have something like that in my Mooney. 1 Quote

bonal Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 I'm sure mine will never look as fine as that. You should be very proud of the results. One of the things I like most about airplanes is that the old ones are some of the most beautiful 1 Quote

I think every one of our backwards tailed planes are works of art and they all look pretty fine compared to brand P's and C's. 1 Quote

ArtVandelay Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Does Aero Comfort do their own panels? Or do all these interior shows get panels from suppliers like Airtex? Quote
BigTex Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Does Aero Comfort do their own panels? Or do all these interior shows get panels from suppliers like Airtex? They take your existing panels and first repair them then cover them with leatherette. Looks fantastic. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 Love it. Thanks for inspiring the cheapskates who live here. Our great planes are not investments, they're mistresses for loving. 1 Quote
LevelWing Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 This looks great! That's actually about the same color I wanted to do my new interior in as well. How long did it take for them to do everything? Quote

How long did it take for them to do everything? They can usually do it in 2 weeks once your plane arrives. Scheduling ahead of time is critical for this to happen as they stay pretty busy. I pulled all my old upholstery ahead of time during my panel upgrade and delivered it to San Antonio. Since the panel took several months, they had the new upholstery ready and waiting for my plane to arrive and installed it in 3-4 days. Don Quote

I'm trying to decide if I want to go this route or have a local auto upholstery shop re-do the seats. The question would then become who and where to have the rest of the interior done. Not to mention I don't think the auto upholstery dealer would be able to do something nearly as nice as this. Quote
