No wonder electrons have such a "negative" outlook on life! Look what they "go through!"  It's enough to make one "repulsive!" Laughing

As long as every wire is connected to something, that's good enough. No lose ends. If you want everything to actually work, then that costs extra.

My installer sent me this photo last year. At least most of your wires are in bundles. Worked out just fine, but what a rat's nest at this point.

I came accross a company called "Approachfaststack" at oshkosh. They make a TSO'ed hub and custom wiring harnesses based on the avionics you have.

It looks like very nice way to clean decades of bad workmanship from avionics shops. (they add wires but don't bother removing the old ones). Thats why I am always reluctant to give them more business !!!

I would make the jump but I am a bit worried something may end up not working.

Anyone used their service ?

I've heard good things about them, but others point out that anytime you add a splice or a connector into the mix you are introducing another failure point, and that is certainly true to a certain extent.  If starting over from scratch, I think it would be a great option.  I'm not sure it would be worthwhile to retrofit into an older Mooney unless you want to start with a clean slate, though.

the harness they had on display looked nice and tidy.

just wary about "recycle" if a wire is forgotten or a plug is short, etc ...

It is not that easy to built your own harness. There are so many connector type and they don't come cheap.

Resistance is futile!

I don't know which is more revolting, Vogon poetry or that many damn wires. Gives me the willies. It's enough to make 45 year old brown woodgrain vac-u-form plastic look pretty reasonable.
