  1. That is a lot of money! I had leather left over from when I did the interior and covered the yokes myself. I can give you some pointers and help you. Send me pm if you want to do it yourself. I contemplated using Aerocomfort but when I saw this I decided to do them myself!
  2. @CG Roger a rough running engine is a specific symptom. Invariably the cause is that the cylinders aren't producing the same amount of power. So you have to look at things that affect one cylinder differently than another. For example things like fuel nozzles and mixture distribution. Not things like magneto that would affect all cylinders. I would look at things like gami spread. Without an engine monitor its difficult but I would start looking at things that affect cylinders specifically.
  3. After the new device driving the autopilot is replaced pitch and roll centering will sometimes need a slight readjustment. Also the installation requires verification of proper functionality of the autopilot prior to doing the upgrade.
  4. My favorite watch. Omega Genève Automatic Chronometer, waterproof. This was my father’s which he purchased in Geneva in 1971.
  5. And this is NO JOKE!!! That’s his granddaughter!!
  6. Wow!! This is serious! When the feds, a pair of physically fit individuals in cargo pants and polos, knocked on his door early in the morning he knew they weren't there for breakfast and coffee!
  7. Exactly! I still have trouble understanding why he called you, a Garmin dealer, after he had it installed by a non Garmin dealer. Only reason I can think is that the other shop was not a G dealer and therefore could not initiate a warranty claim. This gentleman has no credible complaint as far as I have read. He also strikes me as very arrogant. He goes to Chief when he has trouble and expects to dictate what they should do and do it now! And instead of saying thank you when they try to help him he turns around and bad mouths them! It’s comical!
  8. Is there a good reason you went to Baker who was not a Garmin dealer? And then you return to the Garmin dealer demanding they solve your issues the non G dealer can’t?
  9. How did it break? I can't imagine how this item breaks! What happened to it?
  10. That Greta chic is one little spoiled brat!! She never learned the concept of respect!
  11. The back cushions slide up and out, and the frame should fold down flat. The back adjustment/release is behind the rear pax knees.
  12. Plan ahead and play it safe by going with Garmin. Have you looked at the GI275? TSO’d instrument with tremendous functionality.
  13. Beautiful panel, @flysamo, Nicely done, looks great! I’m trying to visualize how the EDM 900 is mounted. I don’t see the four screws (one at each corner) that mount the flush bracket to the panel! How is it mounted?! Looks great!
  14. My KI256 is running great also. Best for these is to be flown and kept exercised. If they sit too long their bearings tend to “set” and the instrument goes prematurely. This is how it was described to me by Bob Bramble. And “prematurely” is relative. He sees these last upwards of 2k hours! I changed the vacuum pump a couple hundred hours ago. Strictly a preventative measure and very cheap insurance.
  15. Sometimes passengers in the rear seats may accidentally bump and unlatch the emergency gear extension on the floor. If this happens the gear will not retract.
  16. Seems expensive and has a short track record, 3 or 4 years.
  17. Why don’t you call Garmin and ask them if the shop has ordered your things. I have found that shops respond quickly when Garmin gets involved.
  18. Garmin gives us solutions. Lots of choices and solutions. And with Garmin you add value to your plane by making it more desirable should you decide to sell. Think long and hard and don’t make the mistake to go Avidyne or Aspen! The former has compatibility issues because they try to catchup, and the latter just couldn’t make it in GA. When upgrading your panel it’s best to stick with the same manufacturer. Garmin is the one and only.
  19. It is extremely rare for analog primaries to fail compared to digital all in one boxes. But I addressed even this rare possibility with the reference to the GI275 EIS See last sentence of my post.
  20. If you have removed your OEM primary instruments primary and you lose the display the plane is grounded. This is why I retained my primary instruments and supplemented them with a large display EDM 800 in my scan. I’m also a firm believer in having these instruments in my scan. I don’t understand the reasoning of putting these vital instruments on the right side out of the primary scan. Mooney put them in front of the pilot for a reason! I really like the Garmin GI 275 EIS and the flexibility it offers. Looking to replace the EDM800 with it. But will be keeping the original instruments.
