Speed Merchant Posted October 2, 2023 Report Posted October 2, 2023 I am looking at having my stock 1984 stock leather interior replaced in my 201. I have been talking to Aero Comfort about their doing it. I had them recover my yokes and them did a great job. They have a great reputation and I enjoyed talking to Hector. They couldn't touch my bird for about a year. Is there another shop I should consider where I could get it done quicker?Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Curt Quote

PT20J Posted October 2, 2023 Report Posted October 2, 2023 I’d check with some Mooney Service Centers for recommendations. There are a lot of good aircraft upholstery shops. Quote

anthonydesmet Posted October 2, 2023 Report Posted October 2, 2023 I’d wait for Hector. Unless money is burning a hole and you’re afraid your wife might spend it before he can get to it……. 1 Quote
231MJ Posted October 4, 2023 Report Posted October 4, 2023 +100 for Hector. Incredible work, don't risk going somewhere else. I sent him all the components and then reinstalled myself - that might save some time. Quote
OR75 Posted October 12, 2023 Report Posted October 12, 2023 Also depends on what the rest of the plane looks like ( or what your plan for the rest of the plane is) personally ( and only personally ) , I have never been a fan of a million$ interior or panel or … if the rest of the craft looks like s… Quote
Pinecone Posted October 12, 2023 Report Posted October 12, 2023 I decided I did not want everything leather covered. I wanted cloth seats and just to paint the plastic panels. I opted to use a local shop that has good reviews locall. I will post my experiences. About half the cost and a lot less time to get a slot. I am doing mine at the time of a avionics upgrade, so the interior will be out already Quote
skykrawler Posted November 3, 2023 Report Posted November 3, 2023 Larger seat bolsters are comfy, but can make the seats difficult to remove. 1 Quote
buddy Posted November 3, 2023 Report Posted November 3, 2023 I’m going to try East Coast Paint & Interior in Deland but only replacing the accordion around my entrance door. The quote was $1,200 and I also asked for a quote on my front seats (leather) $6,300. Quote
M20F-1968 Posted November 5, 2023 Report Posted November 5, 2023 FYI: For those of you doing interior work on mid-body Mooneys, I have an extra pair of ceiling panels from an Ovation left over from my rebuild. Seeing that my plane is finished and the fiberglass ceiling parts will likely not need to be replaced, they are available If someone wants to go that route. Being fiberglass, they can be reshaped as you need them to be. They have been cut to fit the mid-body planes. Take a look at my album pictures to see what is possible. John Breda Quote

I used leather on the trim pieces and painted the panels.I opted not to get the embroidery to keep costs down. 1 Quote
