  1. I do have the MB with two alternators and the belt driven alternator does need to come out first but that's really easy. I didn't think Himark had the MB engine so I did not mention that. It is the Husky ratcheting wrench I used - the head is thinner and the throw on the wrench is tighter (I don't know how to explain that very well) so it's kinda perfect for that third bolt. Getting the alternator out is a pain and you need to be careful re-attaching the cables, I cracked the brush holder once - $250 for that baby.
  2. I have removed the left mag and taken it out of the top. If I remember right, the nut on the left side is a bear to get off. I have found the ratcheting wrench from Home Depot (forgot the name of their brand) to be thin enough to get into that space. I think the others two are not hard to get at. Replacing the coupling is a good idea if you don't know it's history.
  3. I'll also add a +1 for Jake at Bevan. He repaired (or supervised the repair) of my pitch trim servo and walked me through the identification of the connectors that Century used long ago. Super helpful, always took my call, responded to all my emails and just a real pleasant guy.
  4. Oh crap. Maybe it's in stealth mode for the flight tests?? In any case, thanks for the bubble burst and back to reality. 2025 it is. Those of us flying Dynon are just getting better and better at hand flying.
  5. I ran across this video about the Dynon factory. At the end of the video, they talk about the AP certification process and the J model testbed is prominently shown in the background. So something is really going on! Maybe it will happen in 2024... Has anyone heard how close it might be? Behind The Scenes at Dynon Avionics HQ (youtube.com)
  6. I ordered the hose that goes from the waste gate to the controller by mistake. The part # is 124F001-6CR0330, see attached documentation. This is for a TSIO360-MB engine. Hose was never installed. You can have the hose at no cost if you pay $20 for shipping (what a deal!).
  7. I have a Jaguar XKR, don't get me started...but it's a great driving car.
  8. I talked to Jake and the units will be shipped to Bevan on Thursday. Thanks for the help, guys. August
  9. Anyone know who repairs the TRW/Globe motor on a Century trim servo? The clutch solenoid works but the motor does not spin. Thanks-
  10. Start on the tank when I shut down. After start, switch to the fullest tank then taxi, run-up, etc. Then I know there is no issue with fuel flow. If I start on the fullest tank, I just keep it there. Others will disagree with this...but in any case, switching right before take-off seems to come with some risk. Let the debate begin.
  11. +100 for Hector. Incredible work, don't risk going somewhere else. I sent him all the components and then reinstalled myself - that might save some time.
  12. You got it, Sriram. Please send me a shipping address. I'd bring it over but I'm going to be gone for a bit. I'll try to ship it later today.
  13. Complete System. Working when removed. All of it for $20.00 (about the cost of shipping) Note: I live in CA so never really needed it. However, on my way to Oshkosh one year, over Denver at 17.5, it REALLY came in handy.
  14. C&L had done great for me. Very responsive to questions and very fast turn.
  15. I have run both the Lycoming IO-360 and the Continental TSIO-360 and the Lycoming leaks a lot less than the Continental, in my experience. I seem to be replacing the seals on my Continental about every 4 years and this year I did use the "Real Gasket" seals. The Real Gasket system is engineered a little differently and I'm hoping it stays dry for a longer period of time. My IA says it's gonna leak at some point and just get used to it...Replacing the seals is kinda involved so suggest doing it only if you can't live with the leaking.
  16. This is always fun to get on. Once the sleeve is in place (up as far as you can get it) you can grab both sides it close to the top (front and back) and twist it back-n-forth and that will take the crease out. Yours looks like it's in very good shape - I would not change it.
  17. Thanks, Paul, great to know this can be repaired. I've been using C&L for bottle and regulator recertification - really good service. As soon as the bottle pressure gets close to zero, I'll send it in.
  18. Filled my new O2 bottle on Friday and found the fill port was leaking after removing the fill hose. Screwing the cap on stopped the hissing but I noticed there was no rubber seal inside the cap so I'm sure it's still leaking (slowly) past the cap threads. Is the fill port something that can be repaired (maybe an o-ring)? I have not researched the parts book yet - anyone know if this is a Mooney part?
  19. My K was pushed out of Kerrville a little before yours and also converted to the MB engine. You have a great attitude about this adventure and you're going to love the plane. Just wait util you start thinking about avionics...
  20. Working when removed. Never needed it much in northern California. What you see is what you get. $200.00 and I pay for shipping. Hope someone can use it. .
  21. Sold - iamit needed it badly to get his IFR check ride done. Wish him luck!
  22. KS is still in business. I went there last week to get my probe back. He even tested it and confirmed it was still functional. He's in poor health and would like to sell the business (Dynon was going to buy it and then backed out). It's worth a try - call him because his wife does answer the phone. It might work out - or keep checking ebay.
  23. The armrest has flow! Thanks for your interest.
