We’ve discussed high fuel costs which includes high costs of oil. I’m checking various places the prices are all over the place. Aeroshell 15w50 prices from $102 to $140 for 12 quarts. Shipping varies from $22 to $56.  Where do you all get your and how much. I’ve got two quarts left haven’t purchased for over a year. Opinions on filters Tempest vs. Champion costs from $35 to $40+

Probably https://aviationoiloutlet.com/aeroshell-oil-w-15w-50/ since they have free shipping over $75 and no sales tax.

Tempest all the way

I've been buying a couple cases at a time at either aircraftspruce or amazon.   Prices seem to go back and forth.

Airplane oil.com came in less than Avaition oil this time, which led me to the question even with shipping costs figured in

Call a local oil distributor/wholesaler. Mine gets me aviation oil by the case and gallons within a couple days. Best pricing and no shipping, but i have to go get it.

Since we burn leaded gas, synthetic oil should be avoided. That’ll change when we’re all burning GU100, but not now.

aviationoiloutlet.com shows 118.24 shipped for a case of Aeroshell 15w50

airplaneoil.com shows $126.86 shipped to me, but your location may be different.

Must be location there close in price here, but is any other lower also airplaneoil is back ordered for filters.

Buy it from your maintainer, the modest profit they make helps them survive.

Buying things locally is where I go first for all things.  Then if I can't find something I want or need, then I will look elsewhere.  Buying locally creates a relationship you will never have with a computer.

Another one for AviationOutlet... now the interesting thing that you didn't ask is; Where can I get an oil filter?

Looking at the places mentioned and some that popped up on Google. the price, shipped to my house is +/- a couple of bucks.

The freee shipping may be more of a deal if you buy several cases at a time

I pick a time when I need to limber up our C and fly to Peachtree City.   There I buy as much oil from AS as will fit into my cargo area with a couple more cases in the back seat.  Last trip has lasted me over 2 years.  I'm down to my last two cases.  It's about 1.2 hours each way for me.   Pricey shipping for sure, but a fun mission.

I found a great source of oil, tempest filters and free oxygen this morning I just need to figure out how to bypass his cameras and security system.

I’ll give you a hint. There are 5 cameras. But I think the moat is going to be your real challenge.

I guess my hoarding has finally paid off.

I recently bought a Tempest 48110 filter from a shop I do business with. They have a few and are only selling them to their regular customers. Relationships are important to maintain.

I pick up a couple of cases at Sun N Fun every year at a good price and can usually get a golf cart ride back to my car thrown in.

Do you just record locally, or do you have Internet access at your hangar?

I have both. I use a Verizon hotspot for a pair of the cameras that stored on the cloud and the 3 other cameras store locally but I can access them through the hotspot for live shots like the one I posted.
