How many times have I said this to myself for the past 25 years?  Well, I can look in my log book and find out exactly I suppose.  I can't think of one time I've ever thought................oh well, I guess I'll go for a flight today.  Point is, I get excited each time a flight is near for me in the Mooney.

So, off I go today for another great flying experience!  Aren't we all fortunate to be able to do this?  You bet we are!!  Have a great day everyone. Wink

I just bought a new house and move tomorrow, but I'm looking forward more to a Mooney trip on Friday, even with this ridiculous heat we're having around here.  I haven't been flying much lately due to the packing/moving preparations and can't wait to get away, even with the excitement of a new house.

Three days ago on Sunday.  Beautiful weather.  Took a friend and his girl out for a fam flight.  She sat in the front seat and got to fly a little and get the itch for the formal training leading to a license.  I love watching that happen.

Land.  Put gas in the aircraft.  Say goodbye to friend.

Put my girl in the right seat and headed north to the Georgian Bay lakeshore and the community of Collingwood.  6000' X 100' runway and a pristine little restaurant in the main FOB terminal.  Turns out it was also a BBQ day / fly in for the Canadian Recreational Aircraft Association (RAA).  Had lunch.  Talked to pilots.  Flew home with girl.

Aaahhhh.  Life is good...... LaughingLaughingLaughing

Amen!  I had the pleasure last weekend of taking my wife's sister up for a ride as something nice to do for her birthday.  She'd dated someone very long ago (early 20s and now 50s) that had taken her flying and remembered loving it.  Just received a thank you card from her saying how it turned an ordinary day into a fun-filled one and saying while not her first ride in a private plane, it was her first in a swanky private plane!  Flying is great fun and a passion for me, but it's even more fun when you get to share the greatness of it with others.

I took up a friend of mine yesterday for a quick ride around the city then got carried away and ended up in Tilsonburg looking for fuel. It's $1.82/ litre there and $1.88 at our home field at CYKF. Pretty sure it's less expensive than Europe but there's no other feeling like flying.

Our weekend, which was quite full of flying, with me doing an hour under the hood, terminating with an VFR practice ILS approach.  Not too bad, but still a long way to go with the IFR training.

I did get to do some back seat flying/photo taking in a 182 as my dear friend Capt. Mike Jesch did some Cessna 2 Oshkosh formation flying training Sat. morning near Fox Field in So. Cal.   Now that was an interesting and fun experience for me.

What a great time we had and I absolutely love the Mooney!

Had a great time flying to Hungary last week , seeing 165 Kts groundspeeds wanted to get over FL100 in Germany but was not allowed VFR, hopped over the Austrians mountains...Got vectored through Linz TMA , buzzed the destination airfield at 200 Ft to see the wind sock.....

OOhh man I love my Mooney burned 140 liters of 2.6 euro fuel but enjoyed every minute of it....

Now I am  back in Belgium with an Arline flight.(proffesional urgency back to work..).and my aircraft sits in Hungary the weather is lousy over the most part of Europe already for weeks...Frown

I feel ...I feel.... I feel.....well  I need an IFR Ticket...NOW!!!!!Cool...
