Driving up to Columbia to meet up with Mooney folk I haven't met yet.  N335BB is still in Scottsdale (Exceutive Aircraft Maintenance)  having a complete new set of panels built, and a swap out of avionics for a GTN 750 /430W/696 in an AirGizmo mount, combination.  Had to go to the remote transponder and audio panel to make it all fit.  Also added a GPSS converter, a panel mounted CO detector, a "real" vacuum gauge, and more. Can't wait to see the results. Oh, and Stacey at Mooney sent me an email that the "long of tooth" articulating seat bottom has been shipped. I will post panel photos when I have my airplane back, and, of course, multiple views of the now imfamous seat bottom mechanism.

My girl and I are flying from the home drome (CNC3 - Brampton) to a little one about 60 miles west of here (CNM4 - Stratford) to have a picnic lunch with the parents of our eldest son's fiancee.  Her dad is looking to fly so I will spend a little time with him while the ladies prep the picnic.

Although we are doing this on Saturday (Sunday is booked with the baptism of a grand niece) I consider this to be a Father's day gift to both of us (the fathers).  Both of us get to fly.  I will have the added pleasure of watching a 50 year-old man develop the look of wonder most often seen in little boys.  Works for me.

This past weekend I flew to Bishop and back. Explored the White Mountains & ancient Bristlecone Pine forest.

This coming weekend.. nada, preparation for... departing to Portland, and then, if things go as planned, up through Washington, B.C., Yukon, and to Alaska.

And here I was feeling bad about the 70% chance of rain and T-storms up here. Hope it doesn't go too bad for you. I've ridden out several, but now have mountains between me and them.

I have a wedding to go to this weekend - my baby sister is getting married.  400nm away.  We are "flying" the minivan ~12hrs.  This weekend is exactly one of those "2 or 3 times a year" that I figured wasnt worth getting one of those slow-steerin' saratogas - I put away that idea when I decided that a Mooney is for me and that 4 seats is good enough for me anyway 99.9% my missions anyway - and it is, and way cooler too.  But tomorrow around hour 10....  Its cool - we will bond.

Last weekend! I flew to a state championship bicycle race on Saturday - me, my buddy and two bikes. 50min by rocket instead of 5 hrs.  Then on Sunday I flew me, my oldest 14 year old boy, his friend and his friend's dad to Portland Maine where we kidnapped several unsuspecting lobsters and brought them back across state lines.

If it weren't for Emily, I'd have my toes in the Bahamian sand today, tomorrow, and the day after.

Figures, all summer long we've had clear weekends down here and the one weekend I select to go - turns to crap.
