Have you seen the stack of radios @Alan Fox has for sale?

There might be something that makes more sense than an old KX170B...

At least put that idea next to what you find for KX170Bs.  Alan might have KX170Bs too...

They're getting harder to find. Many of them had the self-destruct feature that would break the nav tune gears when you retracted the retainer to remove it. The gears haven't been made in decades.

The other thing that is not as durable is the power switch.   Also you might want to pull it out and push it back in several times.  That will get the junk off the contacts and it may start working.
