Raptor05121 Posted July 18, 2017 Report Posted July 18, 2017 Hey @LASAR, now that you're on the site, any chance we could roll a group buy together and get another run started? 2 Quote
rbridges Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 Do lasar visors install differently than Rosen? Quote
Brandontwalker Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 After fighting with my factory visors, I may be game too. What do the Lasar visors look like? What was the cost?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

lotsofgadgets Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 I'd be happy with just the mounting hardware. My 201 came with a pair of Lasar visors, but the pilot side is missing the bolt/washer/cover. the threads aren't long enough for a self locking nut so it comes loose any time I move it. Quote

steingar Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 I'd get another set of Rosens, had them on both my other aircraft. But gee, they don't make visors for Mooneys! What a drag. I'd love see this as well. Being able to see out the window is a pretty big deal. Quote

He had bought them and hadn't installed them before selling his Mooney. They are LASAR "Wiser Visors", $350 here. They have made them bigger since I got mine. Frankly, they are so superior to the originals that I'd resist my CB instincts and buy them. Forget the Rosens...way overpriced and no better than the LASARs. In fact, I think the LASARs articulate better, very easy to put them exactly where you want them. 1 Quote
rbridges Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 The reason I was asking about the Rosen is IIRC, the older model mooneys can't have them installed. I think it's 65 and older models. Something to do with an attachment point not being present in those models. I didn't know if it applied to the lasar visors. Quote

The 65's don't have the outboard mount, I have seen Rosens mounted to the center bar (better than nothing) Quote
gsxrpilot Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 LASAR hasn't had those visor's available for a few years now. But they did have the lenses. I ordered a set of "replacement" lenses and then made my own brackets for my M20C. They worked nicely. Quote

Htwjr Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 To quote from Planes, Trains and Automobiles "You're going the wrong way!" I would like visors also. I always wear a cap but visors would be better. 1 Quote
steingar Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 I wonder what it would take for them to make more. Me want. 1 Quote
Piloto Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) I just put on my baseball cap when heading into the sun. It works very well. An got it for free at Sun n' Fun. Even my wife wear them. José Edited July 19, 2017 by Piloto Quote

Good visors really help. And like I said, not to many things are more important in an airplane than being able to see. By the way, your woman looks really happy in that photo. NOT Quote

The LASARs have a SS pipe clamp that attaches to the cage bar on each side. I think they will fit any Mooney. Quote
