You guys are hilarious!

About the photo and the subject:

  • His name is Simon.
  • He was estimated to be just 10 weeks old when he was found by the side of a country road in a closed Rubbermaid storage container sometime in June of 2013.
  • My wife and I took him in just before we were married, so he is kind of like a first child...except that I vow not to spoil my first real child nearly as much.
  • We were in cruise Westbound at 4,500msl over Western MD..
  • It was a little choppy the day of the flight, which is why he has his toes wrapped around the yoke like a "3 toed sloth".
  • After an initial period of apprehension he was amazingly comfortable in the plane. I have another shot of him looking out the side window, his expression is oddly human (I know, I know, everyone anthropomorphizes their pets).
  • He stood there on the yoke for several minutes staring out the windscreen, then over at me in the left seat, then back out the windscreen.
  • He has flown with us a number of times; he tolerates it quite well. Oddly, he can be a bit nervous and unsettled in the car (but seems to enjoy riding in Roadsters with the top down).
