skibum3d Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Looks like a gear up with a prop strike; the right main was extended ever so slightly at about 10 degrees. (It's hard to see the prop strike from the photos, but it was clearly present.) Anyone know what happened? Hopefully everyone is ok. Quote

fantom Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Looks like the result of a dangerous no flaps landing 4 Quote
rbridges Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Looks like the result of a dangerous no flaps landing more likely from flying LOP 3 Quote
Marauder Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I thought it was because he didn't have an AoA indicator. 2 Quote
M016576 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 I'm going with the Gus Grissom defense: "the hatch just blew!" Either that, or he tried landing with speedbrakes out. 4 Quote
Mooneymite Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 I can't tell from the pictures if the owner did, or did not use MMO, but this is an excellent example of what happens if one does, or does not use it. Be forewarned! 3 Quote
kmyfm20s Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Must have been single pilot IFR in VFR conditions. 2 Quote
bnicolette Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Apparently the pilot was seen pulling the airplane out of the hangar by the prop. This was the result. 1 Quote
triple8s Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 No no this is surely a result of sanded rivets. Quote
Marauder Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 I don't know how we could have missed this! Failure to use CamGuard! Plain and simple... Quote
DonMuncy Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 I thought it was from looking at an AOA rather than the ASI. Quote
Carl S Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 WHatever, not a great way to end a year or start another. Quote
AmigOne Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 I think is due to mixing Marvel Mystery oil with avgas……………seriously now, I feel his pain. Quote
aviatoreb Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 I think he forgot to wear his AOPA hat. 1 Quote
RocketAviator Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 I try hard not to jump on some of these ruthless bandwagons especially after the Grace I was shown.... but as somewhat far less than minor fortune teller I see a 44709 in the pilots future.... Just saying... but I hope not! Quote
