My equipment list says

Mallory SC628P
Safe Flight 164R

For gear alarm and stall horn respectively.

Had to replace my gear alarm a while back.  The current version of that part number is smaller and has a plastic housing compared to the original, but it's still in production.

In my 1970 C, the gear horn and stall horn are both in the overhead, to either side of the speaker that I have never used.

I have 2 sono alerts overhead , but it always sounded like it was coming from under the instrument panel.

Yep. One for the stall horn, one for the gear warning.

They are Mallory Sonalerts.   There are different beeps and buzzes.     I think stall is steady beeeeeep.   And gear is beeep beeep. I think there are about 10 differnt sounds.   About $12 from various sources.   https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/mallory-sonalert-products-inc/SC628/528117?utm_adgroup=xGeneral&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Dynamic Search_EN_Product&utm_term=&utm_content=xGeneral&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9O6HBhCrARIsADx5qCRJPrZW8rgVihCrdca_XwzbNjjEXeMdnDtVxYbY3-0cAY6D8aCMs8waArilEALw_wcB

Hank is one of those on the money engineers…. With M20C experience! :)

Things to check when able…

1) Throttle switch…

2) Gear switch…

Both are required to have the buzzer sound…

3) Stall switch…

With power on, should sound the buzzer…

4) Skill with a voltage meter helps…

5) getting access above the ceiling is usually the pain… that keeps things not getting improved.

6) If going behind the ceiling panel… get ready to do some maintenance…  wires, tubes, cable, speaker, and lights….

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic…

Best regards,
