Yes, but you shim the engine, not the prop.

Don Maxwell has a procedure on his website.

But before shimming, make sure the motor mounts don’t need replacing.

Also, most J’s look like the spinner is out of alignment with the cowling because the play in the camlocs allows air pressure to push the top of the cowling up and back slightly during flight. The cowling may look perfectly aligned after removing top and bottom parts and putting it back on and then look out of alignment after a flight. Compare yours with others in pictures and on the ramp. 

I believe @jetdriven wrote about mods he made to his cowl to fix this.

If it’s really bad... check on all the welds of the motor mount itself...

If the rubber donuts are ancient you might want to get new ones prior to shimming...

Then look up the fancy shim stock that has a slot to allow them to be installed without too much effort....

34 year old motor mounts. Needed to be replaced about 25 years ago.

So,

Are these the same as Lord mounts (two shock mounts with spacer) or a single part? How does that work? Reason for question is that Barry states single part no. 94011-02 is needed for install per location. I like the price as it's much cheaper then (two) Lords.

When it comes to the big donuts... we only have Lord...

I have the good Lords supporting my IO550...

Anyone know if you can buy just the rubber pucks for the Lord mounts (IO-550)? Don't see that on their website or Spruce's but figured it would be a lot cheaper than the $500x4 that I'm now looking at

I thought the Good Lord supported all of our Mooneys in flight, regardless of the engine model . . . .

Will check my mounts at annual next month.

Keep both eyes open when ordering the Lords...

For the IO550...There are three of one type and one of the other...

If you ask them why, remember to post the answer around here somewhere...
