Can you identify this button?

Hi fellow aviators. I need some help. What is/was the function of this red button seen just above the airspeed indicator in my 1980 M20J. Can't find anything in the POH or the maintenance manual so I assume that it served an aftermarket purpose. The placard next to it says F/T . It does not appear to have ever had a fuel flow meter or totalizer.

It looks like the Precise Flight standby vacuum warning lamp. Lights on low vacuum.

You have a stall warning light?

Be on the look out for what is attached to the JPI... some have the ability to remote mount an alarm...

Also, some have the ability to act as the FF/Totalizer...  see what exactly is the JPI model you have there... the numbers give a few details...

Expect such a well loaded IFR plane to have a back-up vac system... Be on the look out for anything Precise-flight related... 

Expect this to all be documented in you aircraft’s log books...

Do you still have your ADF.  It is to reset your leg time back in the day during ADF approach.  

If you have an ADF, that button resets the flight timer in the ADF.  The ADF automatically starts to time a flight when you take off, so you have a "time in air" measurement for IFR purposes.

I also have the same button.....took out my ADF with Aspen install and ADS-B but have not redone my entire panel yet but will have to come out at some point

Flight timer for the ADF. Mine is located just below it, above the throttle. Actually quite handy once you realize it is there. Great for doing holds or timing turns.

F/T... Flight timer... 

My King ADF has one, but didn’t get the luxurious button to go with it... have to reach all the way to the center stack to activate it...

F/T is for faster tailwind....you should be so lucky, everything I fly seems to have the headwind button

THIS IS WRONG.  It resets the flight time (f/t) on the ADF.  I don't know what I was smoking.  Apologies.

mine looks the same and is labelled "F/T RESET" andvbit resets the totals in the fuel totalizer; make sure your JPI EDM does not have a fuel totalizer that replaced a factory FT-101.

Guys, 

Thank you so much! Sounds like the consensus is that it is connected to the leg time for the ADF. I am not sure I would have ever figured it out myself. Thanks for the help! I will be flying tomorrow so I will check it out with the Flight Time function.
