Mike , and his brother Mark are awesome.  They are  both adrenaline junkies just like myself.  They are an inspiration to me in both aviation and in my small business.

I have  been watching the channel religiously.  Scrappy is going to be Nasty.  But i am really waiting to see the new race plane that is replacing Turbulence.  He has the new turbine in a glass case to admire.

I need a new Hot Rod .

Looks like a combination of adrenaline junkie and collected intelligence.... design engineer, machinist, Carbon fiber and pilot,  in one shop...

To make prop design sound interesting... and make a TV show sell advertising (?) Somebody has to pay for all this stuff with something...

The precision tube cutting/welding was pretty interesting...

I pictured some interesting Mooney projects going on in that shop...

@M20Doc might like the half hour show about the 8 cyl. Lyc.

Best regards,

I'm guessing his feet are not gonna get cold.

I thought that to. But if Mike doesn’t like it he will come up with a way to fix it.

Mike’s talented with composites.  I met him at Oshkosh and told him I learned a bunch of tricks (mostly speed mods) for doing composite work.

I do think he’s got an engineering staff on hand as well.  Some of the videos don’t show that aspect.

That doesn’t take away from his awesome builds.  Maybe the toiling raptor dude should get together with Patey to finish off that project...  Mike probably would have completed it in 9 months instead of 4 years plus.

Their company makes large processing equipment primarily for the oil industry.   He is a serial entrepreneur in engineering spaces.   He's not a hack mechanic cobbling stuff together.

Im not doubting he’s for real - I know he is.  I also surmise that he has help with some of the engineering problems he encounters by a staff of professional engineers.

Yikes...that xwind was incredible with right ,downwing gear oleo fully compressed...when I first saw the video ,couldn’t understand why it was leaning so much to the right
