Hey had a great flight to lake Charles, la this weekend.  great weather good flying.

unfortunately, the fixed step up into the plane broke when i stepped on it.  Anyone know where and how much for a replacement, anyone just remove it ?

Mine was removed. Other than making for a bigger step up into the plane, I have never missed having one.

Mine still has the step.  My wife and daughter appreciate the assist.

I use my fixed step twice per flight, more with pax.

When the PO had a gear up (2003?), it was replaced.

The step should be kept for those passenger unfamiliar or of limited walking ability or kids. Falling into the ramp can ruin your day, keep it, is there for a reason.

Why did it break - Corrosion?    If there corrosion in the step there may be elsewhere.  Not trying to be an alermist but I would take a close look.
