I just purchased a 78 model M20j, I've flown it maybe 5 hours and it flies and lands great...heard all the stories about hard to land, hard to slow down but seems to be a great plane.   I'm located in northeast Arkansas and have owned a Cherokee 180 and a Citabria...

anyway im curious how and where the battery panel access is...says tailcone access panel but can't locate it...not at the airport now and was reading the POH.   Thanks...

On the pilot side behind the baggage area there is a large side square panel (about 2ft x 2ft) with camlocs. Remove this panel and you will see the battery box to your left next to the baggage area bulkhead. To remove the box cover slide back two front and back pins.

The panel is on the left side of the fuselage, behind the wing trailing edge. You’ll need either a Phillips #2 or a1/4” common blade screwdriver.

Welcome aboard, Todd...

Where did you hear these stories?

A little transition training, goes a long way...

The ability to talk with other Mooney pilots can be very helpful...

Ask away, often...

Todd,

have you found your battery yet?

Got a Concorde yet?

Got a digital voltage display yet?

Found which voltage regulator your plane has yet?

Stuff we cover with new and old MSers around here...

Best regards,
