mooney17n Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 (edited) I am contemplating selling my 1968 M20C. The plane has been with my family since 1971, have the pink slip for the registration. Its been owned by me or my father for almost 46yrs, how long have others owned their Mooneys? Hank Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Nine and a half years and counting . . . Bought her five weeks after completing my PPL. But then again, there's a car in my garage right now that I've had just over twenty years, so the Mooney is not in any danger. Quote
mooney17n Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 Forgot to add pic of the mooney he had with wood wings before that!!! He loved a Mooney!!!! 7 Quote

That is an awesome story. I'm a few years behind Hank at 6 years or so. Quote
Bennett Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Mooney 231 converted to 261: owned for over 18 years. When I sold her I took in a 231 in trade and sold her shortly thereafter. I've owned my current 201 for about 3 years. Many other aircraft in between. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Bartman Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 9.5 years. She is still in great shape, so when I bought my '77 J, I bought my first and last airplane at the same time. 1 Quote

1964-M20E Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 2 years for my E and 4 for my F so a total of 6 years a Mooney owner. Only planes I have ever owned. Quote
MyNameIsNobody Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 15 years in December. She was a pretty face that had suffered benign neglect for over 20 years. Now she is a reliable cross-country machine. I still regret selling my dad's last car a 1990 300ZX...but it was down-payment for the Mooney and was suffering from lack of use like my plane so I hope that car is loved like I love my Mooney. N201MKTurbo Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 I had my first one for 19 years, I've had this one for 13 Quote
Marauder Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 I hope you hang onto her. It's part of the family! Your family! I've owned mine for 25 years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Chris, over 25 years, how many hours have you averaged per year on your F? [Please DO NOT (ever) divide total cost by total dollars spent on your F and if you do, DO NOT share that info.] Quote
TWinter Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Five years and hoping for many more. Still get that flutter of excitement when I'm driving to the airport to fly. -Tom Quote
Oscar Avalle Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 I bought mine in 2002, after one divorce, a new marriage, two new sons, 5 international moves I still keep her...and get a thrill every time I go to the airport to fly herSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
211º Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 In 10 years, it'll be 10 years and 4 months! Owned a 150 before this and a partial owner of a Bonanza many years ago. The Mooney is an amazing compromise between speed, fuel flow, and capacity. It's my earth-bound Tardis! Quote
201er Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 5 years. Feels longer. Maybe that's cause I've logged 1007 hours since purchase. Why don't you guys put your hours along with years. 1 Quote
