My Valentine and I used the Mooney for a quick trip to the beach to let our child (the dog) play in the surf. Austin to Port Aransas a quick 45 Mooney minutes.

Flew yesterday and today. Yesterday to celebrate finishing the Annual, and put in a couple hours today just to hit the 500hour mark in my logbook. Gonna see how many hours I can rack up before I hit the 2 year anniversary of my first lesson in May.

No flying this week-end for us. Aircraft is undergoing annual now. Even if it would be available have you seen the temperature in eastern Canada these days? Was minus 30 C when we woke up. Prefer to stay warm at valentine's.

My Mooney is also in the shop for its annual. My bride and I are in Cabo celebrating our anniversary. But I like the way you think, Jolie!

Amen brother! I have today off and thought I would go do an hour of approaches. Looked at the thermometer showing 7° this morning and figured the only approach I was going to do was to my recliner.

A friend who is working on his private told me he flew yesterday with his instructor. He said his feet were warm but he saw his breath even after flying for an hour. Got to love those leaky air ducts on Cessnas.

My coldest departure to date was 8ºF for Sunday breakfast. The wife stayed in bed. By the time I taxied, ran up, back-taxied and climbed to 3000' I was toasty and warm. Didn't get cold again until I shut down and opened the door . . .

Were I going somewhere, bitter cold couldn't stop me on a sunny day.  But just to do some landings (I doubt I'd even stop for lunch, too worried about the engine cooling back down) I'll pass.  Could use some stick time though, haven't been up in a stretch.
