I wanted to solicit feedback from those who use GAMI injectors on thier 4 cylinder Mooneys.  Have you been happy, unhappy, with the results?  Have you noticed any "real" change in fuel flow, temp or gas savings etc.

I don't want this to turn into a LOP discussion since that has already been covered in a previous post.  I just want to know "personal opinion" and facts if you have them on whether or not you think it's worth the expenditure in parts and labor over keeping stock injectors.

George, do you know if your fuel:air ratios are balanced already with your IO-360?  Many of them are very well balanced right out-of-the-box and thus do not need GAMIjectors at all.  If you haven't already, I would suggest running the "GAMI Lean Test" to baseline your engine.  (You can find the instructions and data sheet on their site.)

How bad does it shake with the stock injectors?  Most 4 cly mooney pilots I talk to can run LOP on stock injectors...You may want to do like Scott says and run a gami lean test and maybe all you'll have to do is move around the injectors you have between cylinders.

Personally, my engine will run just about to cutoff without shaking on stock injectors.

I installed them in my M20F that had a Rayjay TN kit.  Before the Gamis, my spread was 1.6 GPH.  After the upgrade, the spread was down to .2 GPH.  It took three tries to get it right, however.  The engine was incredibly smooth afetr the Gamis were installed.  I could feel a difference, even at idle.  And the evidence on the engine monitor was pretty clear.  Running ROP, my fuel flows were about 1 GPH lower, depending on altitude.  I wasn't able to run LOP without the Gamis without shaking the airplane apart.  Afterwards, smooth all the way to cut off.  I was also able to run about 80% power while LOP with CHTs in the 365-370 degree range up to about 14K ft.  Above that, things started to heat up a bit and I did't have an intercooler.

A few years ago I gave GAMI a check at Sun n Fun for a set of injectors. I have a J model with IO360. I did the GAMI test as they requested before they shipped me anything. The FF delta was 0.1 gph. They sent me my check back.

My 231 runs noticeably smoother, at least at idle; I can't tell any difference under power, but I assume it must be soother there also.  This has to be a good thing.
