I am looking to sell my M20F. It is hangared at KSTJ (Rosecrans Memorial) just North of Kansas City. I really don't want to sell her, but I am getting married and need to shift some priorities. It's a great plane and has been well taken care of. Check out the attached PDF for more info. Price is very negotiable, so tell me what you think.

Thanks,

Tony

She hasn't had the chance to fly with me yet. We live in different states and I always fly commercial to go visit her. She is looking forward to flying with me when she visits here fathers day weekend. She doesn't know I am looking to sell, and might get upset when she finds out. She knows how much I love flying and wouldn't let me give that up. Fact is though, once we get married, I have more than just me to worry about. I can always r**t a plane. :( I'll own a plane again one day, but with a family of 5, I'm going to have to change brands. I wanted a Mooney since I saw my first one as a little kid. It was a dream come true buying mine. I found an amazing woman though, and she is an even better dream come true.

Time to go cut wood and crush cans on my forehead to get my man card back now!

Tony,

I was raised in St.Joe and lived there until I was 15. My dad had a Cherokee 140 that he kept in the old green north side t hangers and I still make it up there about once a year to visit family and friends. I always enjoy checking out the big heavy's while I'm there and hearing "check gear down, cleared to land".

Bodie,

I'm active duty AF, but I am attached to the gaurd unit here flying the C-130s. I love the "check gear down" during pattern work. Even though I am used to hearing it in the C-130, it caught me off my first time hearing it in the Mooney.

Tony , it looks like a very nice aircraft , and the panel just needs a gps , The problem as I see it is the Missing logs , Its a big one , I would not even know where to begin as far as putting a price on it.........The thing that sucks is that you cant fix missing logs ......What is your asking price, I am not a buyer , but just curious...

I'm not sure where I came across as missing logs? I have all logs since new. In addition, I have all reciepts since '89. My initial asking price is $49k.

I too think you're in a good place to move that nice Mooney. Best of luck with the huge change! We're trying to figure out wedding plans here and my fiance already has sampled the convenience of Mooney travel so I'm good in that respect. :)

I’d reconsider selling it especially if you own it outright. Evaluate when and where you will be traveling with the whole family. You may find that many of your trips will not include everyone and when it does use alternate modes of transportation then. Unless of course it is overall financial then you might consider taking on some type of partner(s) to help with the expenses.

So I really haven't had any interest yet. I am really just looking to get out from the payment, hangar, insurance, etc... Free up some money for the house, wedding and such. If anyone knows someone that might be interested, I am willing to work out a real steal on a nice plane.

John, unfortunately I don't own it outright, and it doesn't fit the whole family, unless you throw the youngest girl in the baggage compartment like I always tell her I'm going to.

Tony I'm sorry to hear that. The youngest will get used to the baggage compartment. :)

I just realized that you have the SN and tail number just before mine. What a coincidence. I have been known to buy other things with sequential serial numbers. Maybe if the others on the board would be willing to make donations I can buy you plane and then I’ll have two planes with sequential SN.

There is always the future I gave up flying for 15 years when my son was born and then when I got back into I went all in an bought a plane as well.

OK to all other members on the board I’m now accepting pledges so that I can purchase b65cuda’s 67 M20F so that I can have two planes with sequential serial and tail numbers. Any amount is fine but if we start at $1,000 for the gold membership it will be great.

Talk about confuse ATC if both are flying at the same time on similar flight plans.

I saw the sequential number just as I hit send on the last message. I don't plan to give up flying. I already took one 10 year break. I'm just going to have to rent for now.

Plane is still for sale. I am pretty surprised how little interest I have gotten on it. I know people don't want to put a lot of money into travelling only to see a bad plane. I was there very recently. I think this is one of the most solid ones out there. Is it the lack of GPS? Does it just take a long time on the market to sell a plane? I've never sold a plane before, but I was practically giving the thing away last month and still didn't get much interest. Good thing is, I'm making adjustments, closing on the new house this week, and may just end up keeping the plane. Maybe that was just the way it is meant to be. I just need that 5th seat mod... anyone know where can get that?

Look on the bright side: you have a nice plane. When we bought late last year, we were looking for a panel GPS and autopilot with alt hold, since we intended to use our plane for trips mostly flying IFR. We got a lot more than that at a very reasonable price, but of course it's not an F. After looking through your photos, I think the lack of panel GPS and the older radios are a drag. You should have the corrosion repaired; that scares off buyers and sends the wrong signal about maintenance. If the hangar rash is minor there's no excuse not getting it repaired if you want a buyer. Loran is not a selling point. Lack of a full autopilot is also a problem. It's a tough market out there. If I were you I would keep it and look for a partner to help finance improvements and reduce your costs.
