So I picked up the plane from ArtCraft.  Much thanks to Mitch for looking over the project and TomCullen for giving me a ride to pick her up today.  Not too many people do a refresh of a classic scheme, using new paint, so I thought it might be of interest.   Anyway, here's how it came out:

Helping you pick her up made me feel like I was picking up a freshly painted plane at much less cost :-)

The picture don't capture the great effect artcraft made with the stripe combined with metallic that seems to change color depending on your viewing angle and the light.

I'd probably go back to the classic style if my TLS style paint job goes bad in the future. The only issue I'd have with it is the ability to see ice on the wings. My current scheme has 30" or so of hunter green paint on the wing roots making ice easy to spot.

Congrats hope! Since I got mine repainted, I can't stop flying it. Went today, will tomorrow and so on. Hope you can enjoy it as much. next time I am near you area I'll get in touch.

Hope you can come up to Oceano, or maybe Columbia for Ambassador events. I knew Teresa and the crew at ArtCraft would make it perfect for you

Very nice. You just have to love Theresa and the staff at ArtCraft. They know how to lay down metallic paints, and they paint aircraft exactly the way you want them to. I forgot how good the Mooney paint scheme looks. Enjoy!

Purty.

You know... I could be persuaded to go with that when I repaint, especially if it saves some money vs. the more complicated modern trim schemes. Did it? Without asking exactly how much, did you get quotes on this and other schemes? Was this cheaper?

The thing I hate about mine is that it's not white. It's a light beige and brown. Ick. White with the modern metallics really looks nice.

Oh, and... what do you polish your spinner with?

Meguiar's NXT Generation All Metal Polysh (misspelling intentional).  Do practically every day.  Be mocked by everyone at airport.  Repeat.

Love the vintage scheme. Thank you so much for not just going with the swoosh. Mooneys have looked awesome in many ways and yours reminds us of that. If, or when I repaint mine, it will likely be a variation on the early 90's factory scheme, but in my own colors.

However, with all the stuff that has been done to my plane and all the things that I'm sure are just over the horizon, I'm actually glad it doesn't have a pretty paint job. There is a certain liberation in a "50 foot" paint job. :P

First a new interior, and now new paint.....very nice, and I like the darker blue.

I also like some swoosh, but not the narrow twisty ribbons that seem to have fallen out of favor, or the gimmicky checkerboard tails...YMWV ;)
