KSMooniac Posted November 21, 2022 Report Posted November 21, 2022 I just read on FB a post by his wife that he's had some strokes and is under hospice care currently. Please consider some prayers if you're so inclined! He's a great friend to the Mooney community. Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk 11 Quote

MooneyMitch Posted November 22, 2022 Report Posted November 22, 2022 Very sad information this is. Such a fine, genuinely kind and truly delightful person Ron is. Quote
mooneyflyer Posted November 22, 2022 Report Posted November 22, 2022 All of our love and prayers to Ron! He is an amazing Mooniac and person. Quote
Greg Ellis Posted November 22, 2022 Report Posted November 22, 2022 Ron Blum gives the best talk on Aerodynamics at Oshkosh and it is specific to the Mooney. I learned more about why my Mooney was built the way it was in a 45 minute talk than anywhere else I have read. He is awesome. He did a series in The Mooneyflyer that is worth multiple read throughs. PT20J Posted November 22, 2022 Report Posted November 22, 2022 Shocked to hear this. Ron and I correspond occasionally. Last email I got from him was Nov 8. Quote

0TreeLemur Posted November 23, 2022 Report Posted November 23, 2022 Sad, I e-mailed him a couple of weeks ago about Mooney testing and he wrote back with some great suggestions. Great guy. Quote
Shadrach Posted November 23, 2022 Report Posted November 23, 2022 Just now realizing that Ron Blum and @Blue on Top are one in the same. Truly a man with a wealth of knowledge and a willingness to share. So very sorry to learn of this tragic turn. 1 1 Quote
KSMooniac Posted November 23, 2022 Author Report Posted November 23, 2022 Sadly he has passed on today. I was overdue to catch up with one of our quasi-regular lunches and talk all things Mooney. He will be missed by many!Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk 1 7 Quote

Parker_Woodruff Posted November 23, 2022 Report Posted November 23, 2022 Ron would stop by our SnF booth and always have outside-the-box fresh ideas when examining various safety of flight issues. He was a good thinker in all things aviation and he’ll be missed. 1 Quote
