on my iphone.  I can use it on my computer and my ipad but my iphone gets inundated with pop-up ads to the point I can not read the content of the forum.  Why is this happening and how can I fix it?  Thanks.  Glen N57540 M20J

Your profile says "supporter" so it appears you have donated.  Did you just do that recently?  Sometimes it takes a couple of days for the adverts to stop.

No issue with my Samsung phone . . . . . :D  :D

i donated long enough ago that the ads have come back, much more intrusive than before. Time to donate again!

@Glen Davis

Oddly…

My old iphone8 doesn’t seem to have this challenge….

Might be the way you are logging in? (Could require a log out and back in again… to do all the proper resetting and updating…)

Let’s send a message to somebody that can help….   @mooniac58 (paid member still gets ads on his iPhone, but not on his other hardware…)

Best regards,

I think there is some setting that needs to be turned on as i have an iphone 12 pro and I’m using safari and i do not have any ads. I tried tap-a-talk but I’m too used to the format/layout of safari. Ironically safari on the ipad is not as good as on the phone. But that’s just me i guess.

Try ad blocker software, only downside to it that I’ve noticed is that some sites won’t allow you in unless you disable it, those sites I usually decide aren’t worth viewing.

@Glen Davis What are you using to access the site on your iPhone?

Note that if you are using Tapatalk they have their own ads and that app is out of our control.  Another issue could be a 3rd party app that is installed on the phone doing this.

Please use the Contact Us form to start a conversation with me and we can look into this further.  My wife has an iPhone 10 I can test this on.

When you contact me please let me know which browser you are using to access the site (Safari, Chrome, etc).

The way the site handles ads is the Google core ad code is not even loaded on the pages for a user with Supporter level access.  It seems very unlikely that the ads or code feeding them would be coming from Mooneyspace.  I tested it on my wife's iPhone X and there were no ads.  Plus the ads Glen is describing don't sound like the kind of ads that Google does like pop ups or being so overwhelming that you cannot use the site.

The problem is not the inline ads, but the one like what I've attached a photo of (on a PC). At least I think that's the case, I didn't explore it extensively.

When you're on a mobile device and you navigate off of your current page to messages, a link on a post to another part of the site, etc, an ad like this pops up takes up the entire mobile device screen and it's not always intuitive how to make it go away.

I usually just go back and click the link again and it doesn't show a second time, but it is disruptive to the experience over the normal inline ads.

Is this when you are browsing from home? Or on the go. If at home, you could setup an ad blocker.. I've never seen any of these ads you're talking about.
