Indeed, LOL--you can see the prop right before TO. Jeez, if you want an inexpensive, comparatively speaking, jet-fighter experience in a prop just get a Mooney.

No offence, but I'm never quite as enthused by something completely out of reach. I'm an owner pilot and always have much more appreciation for other owner pilots and not those who need a long list of corporate sponsors. But that's just me. When I'm sitting in my M20C waiting while a G5 or Citation X taxis by, I'm not envious. Why? Because I own my airplane, I don't work for the owner of the airplane.

 

Just my $0.02 so I like the goofy looking "Tomcat" with the pusher propeller.  That's something a guy like me could build and fly... not that I ever would, but I could.

I think it is very cool. He had an idea of the design he wanted, he built it and it flies.

It's a flying fuselage design built out of aluminum alloy.

If I were to ever own an UL that would certainly be on top of my list.

Why did they not just replace the powerplant with the jet engine?  It reminds me of something you'd see at the circus like the bearded lady or siamese twins, just a freak show.

It would seem that way viewed through the prism of American GA. I beleive this guy lives in Greece and built and flies this aircraft there. It's not a GA friendly country. There are less GA airplanes based in the whole country than at one of our larger GA airports. It's not that hard to get a PPL and acquire an aircraft in the states by comparison. In my opinion, the devotion and resources put into scratch building an ultralight like that, in a country like Greece, is not something to trivialize, no matter how silly it may appear to us.

I like it.  It's cool fun flying low and slow make you feel like a bird.  I'd put a IO360 with a ducted fan on it to really make it look more like a jet and it would probably climb like a scared cat.

 

Maybe I'll convert the Mooney to a ducted fan configuration.
