Three ideas come to mind:

 

1.  Stolen plane.  No N number, address, or any other information given that can identify the plane.  A search of the FAA registry shows no plane registered to the name listed on the ad, although it could be registered under a business or LLC.

 

2.  Scam.  Get your money but you get no parts.

 

3.  Worth more in parts than as a whole and the owner does not want to fly any more.

Highly suspect with no N number, serial numbers or really any info on the plane. What about engine, prop and airframe hours? There are lots of scams out there. Be careful folks.

Could be. He maybe one of those guys that thinks you don't need insurance. On the other hand, why all the secrecy?

Ailerons? Wing tips? Elevators?

I know it will have the long rudder...etc.

Scott - don't you need the Mooney drawings to support the mod? I know when I did mine back in the 90s the kit from Mooney came with drawings along with the hardware.

I think you need a 337 but it is doable in my opinion without drawings. YMMV of course since FSDO interpretations vary widely.

Already have the yokes. Ailerons and other hardware/hard parts would be nice. Fuel pump and servo, gear motor, still some good stuff in the panel...
