What type of Mooney do you have.  I have been using Brian Kendrick to annuals.  He is the former service manager of the Mooney factory service center in Kerrville.

He will come and spend several days as necessary to do an annual in the owner's hangar.

Since I am located in the Boston area, perhaps there are other Mooney owners in the Boston area that can pool together to have him do several annuals locally.

You can call me at (617) 877-0025 or e-mail me at johnabreda@yahoo.com to discuss my experiences further.

Thanks,

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. I've got an M20J. I'm an A&P and usually do the annuals on my own airplane but the Mooney is new to me. I was interested in working with a qualified and experienced mechanic who has done things to the Mooney that I haven't experienced, like checking the preload on the landing gear, etc... I bought the required tools and have all the manuals but I'd rather "see and do" than read a manual. I spoke with Infinity and they are willing to give me some "dual" on rigging the gear. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with them they would like to share.

Where in MA are you?I grew up there and got my private in 1969 at Hanscom Field before becoming a military pilot. I live in Maine now since retiring from the airlines.

Thanks again,

Bill

Hi Bill,

I share a 201 with a buddy and his friend takes his Saratoga to Columbia in KBHB. It is a Mooney Service Center. We are planning to get our next annual there. I would like to talk to John Breda about the Mooney service manager doing the annual in the hangar. Might be tough though...our annual I think is in October. Not sure how many other Mooneys are due then.

Also, my partner has heard great things about Tam's Interiors in ME. Tami I think is the owner and you remove the seats and take them to her. Supposed to be very reasonable rates with great results.

John, my mooney is up for annual in sept. I'll be watching this thread for any updates. My plane is currently hangered in kocf ocala Florida since I couldn't find a hanger before the winter season came after my purchase.

Hi,

One space in our hexagon hangar is open in Keene, NH. I know that would be a long drive to go flying. I will have to talk to the guys but I think the rent is only about $200.00/ month.

Update......brought my M20J to Infinity for "dual" on preloading the landing gear. I worked with Joe Gardner. He is more than experienced working with Mooneys. He's been to the factory many times and is VERY familiar with all aspects of our airplanes. I would highly recommend him for anyone interested in finding an accomplished mechanic in the Northeast to service their Mooney.
