I have found one well known Mooney authorized service center near DFW, Texas that says they will fix one fuel tank that is weeping on my 1965 M20C for $560 and will take them 5 days to do it right.  This sounds like a reasonable solution to me.  Is there anything I'm missing--or not asking related to this leak?

Maxwell is comparable, FWIW I did a BFR checkout and we landed and took off on grass. A week later the tank was leaking. I took the plane to Don, and he patchd it up for 1500$.  It has been 9 months and its not leaking still.   Don is the shit.

Another Don Maxwell.

On my plane, the tanks were patched several times over the years  None of the repairs lasted more than a couple of months. He quoted a price pretty much in the ballpark with yours.   He fixed the leaks (and several more).  At the end of it all, his charge was exactly what he quoted!

It has been five months, and no blue stains under the wing..

My experience is he is not only very expert in all things Mooney, but honest to boot.

I agree that this is a low number to do a repair.  Is he going to pull and reseal the screws?  Over the summer I paid $1,500 for an MSC to do a repair on one side and it has worked out so far.  Pretty much putting off the inevitable full reseal at Weep No More but I just didn't have the free cash for a complete job.
