PeteMc Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 (edited) Nice Winds!! I liked zooming in and and actually seeing that Mooney cruising over the landscape! FlightAware had you at 203 when I looked. Edited February 20, 2022 by PeteMc

I took a picture of my wife (upper half) peeing in a piddle pack in our front seat. The contortions required were surprising, but she nailed the target! Now with my 6 year old daughter, we use a different technique… she stands up inside a lawn/leaf bag in the backseat (on the floor) and then goes for the piddle pack. My wife holds the trash bag up around her middle. The lawn/leaf bag is backup, but she’s been solid so far!

The planned 7:45 would mean you got your fuel flow down below 8gph but you’re still making good speed, nice! What power setting? Curious why you didn’t choose higher than 8500? Weather? fatigue without O2?
Ragsf15e Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 Possibly the new paint is reducing his drag enough to do this!

Hank Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 He found the right wife if she's up for 8-hour flights! I don't really want to do that myself. I start getting restless by 4 hours, and when landing at 4:45, I was very ready to stand up and walk around. 1

I plan for 4 and then typically will pick something a little further than going shorter as needed. But a 4 hour flight IS NOT 4 hours from the last "rest stop" if you think about it. Especially if you have any kind of Wx diversions. And for those flying in the higher altitudes... Potato Chips and Coke apparently actually reacts with the body and you can get a LOT longer flight leg than you would expect. Don't remember the specifics as to why, but I think it was John Deakin that posted about that years ago.

Wonder if it was forecasted in that area or if he's getting a nice extra push. I can hear him now... "Come'on ETA.. Keep ticking down!!" And with the extended range tanks, I sure wouldn't be pulling back any more than I needed to. Just what was needed for the range (w/ reserves, of course ). 2
LANCECASPER Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 Wow, you're flying over 20% (10 of 50) of the United States. My only real question is what in the world would possess you to visit Lubbock TX . . lol? 1 1
Marauder Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 The big question is whether or not he is wearing his trademark “Stinky Pants” cargo pants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

PeteMc Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 @201er Looks like you were moving right along there as you started to enter the downwind....
