How do you get chocolate off your mic and need to clean off. Flying along after a few hours I had a chocolate tasty cake, you actually need to move your mic to eat it, lesson learned, I looked at Fran to request assistance noticed she had marshmallow cream on hers. Is this normal. Who else is as stupid as...

You need a Labrador puppy.  She'll clean it right up for you.  Any fully equipped FBO should have one available just for this purpose.

It must be a Chocolate Labrador as all other variations have different cleaning properties.... In all seriousness, do not feed your 4 legged wingmen chocolate.

I allow nothing in the aircraft more opaque than water, and food kept at a minimum.  Aircraft interiors are expensive.  I just got down cleaning a bunch of stains and have a few yet to do.

It’s a lot easier when you use a Halo instead of those head clamps.

You both look so young in that picture!

1) Mike is wearing very clean pants in that pic... must be early in his flying career... :)

2) Foam mic covers can probably be tossed in the washing machine with everything else...

3) If they resurface...  they will be clean, if they don’t, go to step four...

4) buying new foam mic covers is a common step...  every headset supplier has the same challenge...

5) I bought a couple while at SNF once... or maybe KOSH...

6) Or you can pay full price and get one to match your headsets...  full price is probably $5.

7) Think about it...  smelling like chocolate is probably better than smelling like old used open cell foam...

8) I had one with a nice shade of lipstick on it... :)

PP thoughts only, not an avionics guy...

Best regards,

Who are you? You can't be Dan! The Dan I know eats like a tweedy bird. Never would get caught eating something like chocolate cake! You ever coming over for your O2 fillup?

But it does look like he is wearing his famous stinky cargo pants that he still wears to this day.

Here in 2013 discussing the finer attributes of the stall warning vane over Angle of Attack indicators with the Grim Reaper:

Or in 2014 with his parrot friend.

Or in 2016 (BTW - thanks for giving my wife a glider ride)

Hopefully when I need some, I’m in Mississippi and have 1000 lbs, I’ll use about 150 lbs coming home. I need to get there at least for your fuel prices. A cool $7.34 a gal. in Gulfport, criminal
