Seth Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) As usual, I post a year end survey to see how much we have flown for the year - I realize there are a few days left . . . Due my Mooney being down for getting a new propeller, I haven't flown it since early August. Otherwise I would have topped 100 hours in my Mooney. I increased my overall time and flew less Mooney hours unfortunately. I did fly a lot for Open Air this year in Cirrus SR22's. Also, I rented one a few times for planned trips (like Mooney Summit). Over 200 hours in SR22s this year. I also earned my Multi Commercial this year and have logged over 25 hours of multi. I love Aviation and am thankful to have the chance to fly. -Seth Edited December 26, 2019 by Seth 3 Quote

gsxrpilot Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 We've got a few more flights to make this year. We're flying BJC to COD today to visit Yellowstone. And then I've still got to get in a VFR day and VFR night (with CFI) cross country as a CPL prerequisite. I'll let you know at the end of the year 2 Quote
tmo Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Isn't the poll supposed to be for 2019? Edited December 26, 2019 by tmo Pools are made for pooling water. IOW - spelling mistake. 1 Quote

Bob_Belville Posted December 27, 2019 Report Posted December 27, 2019 We had a great year, logged 130 hours, all in our Mooney. (Recent years have ranged from 50 to 80 hours.)Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 3 Quote
PJClark Posted December 27, 2019 Report Posted December 27, 2019 32 hours, but just bought it end of May, paint shop June-Aug and Avionics shop Aug-Oct 1 Quote
201er Posted December 27, 2019 Report Posted December 27, 2019 Only around 150. Had a lot of downtime this year for maintenance and other things. But I still managed a few big trips like out west, northern Canada, Oshkosh, and more. Spent a bunch of time prepping for and taking the Commercial ASEL. 3 Quote
Davidv Posted December 30, 2019 Report Posted December 30, 2019 Fortunate to have a great flying year, put 250 hours on the Mooney! 1 Quote
0TreeLemur Posted December 31, 2019 Report Posted December 31, 2019 This was a great year for flying. I finished the IR that I started in 1983 and flew a total of 123 h, all in our 1967 Mooney Mark 21. This happened in 92 flights, the longest of which was 4.2h. Flew her to Dalton, GA, today for her annual and some new shock disks. Looking forward to a 'bouncier' 2020! Happy New Year y'all!!!! 5 Quote
KLRDMD Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 My 2019 numbers. gsxrpilot Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 This year was pretty light for me. Only 120.2 hours across 87 flights. I'll try to do better in 2020. 3 Quote

Parker_Woodruff Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 95 hours in 2019 - almost all of it was dual instruction given and this year promises to be even more, despite not owning a plane. 1 Quote
mooneyman Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 (edited) I had just over 150 hours in 2019. Highlights: Exumas in March Nantucket- June Oshkosh West Coast Trip- Sedona, Monterey, San Juan Islands Also did some Angel Flights which were awesome! Hope to fly more in 2020! daytonabch04 Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 I bought my plane at the end of 2018 and in 2019 had 90.8 hours. A little less than my goal of the "owned" 120 hours threshold. 48 flights, so average flight length 2.5 hours. This is what the Mooney was made for! Most exciting flight was definitely flying into OSH. Was glad I had a relatively low first annual costs from DMax. Quote
Yetti Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 Enough that my insurance only went up $30.00. I will take that as a win. 1 Quote

Paul, that sounds like a good New Year's resolution: "This year I vow to fly more." I'll second that. I want to do three long cross countries. I've talked with my co-pilot about trying to touch both shores in one trip. Florida to the Pacific Northwest and back via Arizona would be one. I think I'll have a trip to Wisconsin. We do plan to visit Gettysburg and Yorktown sometime soon (weekend trips). 1 Quote

211º Posted January 7, 2020 Report Posted January 7, 2020 I was quite please with 190 hours. Many (westbound) at/near 4.0 hours between Cincinnnati and Kansas City and eastbound always better. They’re time machines!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote
