Mitch and I and 25 of our closest Mooney Airplane friends are flying to South Lake Tahoe for Lake in the Sky this weekend 8/26 and 8/27.  All are welcome to this great event.  Friday night BBQ is complimentary and a salute to our active duty and veterans.  We have 8 or 9 in the airshow on Saturday. The weather??  82-87 degrees.  Tempted yet??

Sunday I plan to take my new N9414V to the NC beach with my lovely bride. This will be her first time up in my Mooney. Too bad Monday looks like poor weather or we would head to the mountains.

Off to Ponte Vedra resort near Jacksonville tomorrow and flying into St. Augustine. This is a destination change due to Irene, which shutdown my original destination of Eluthera.

We flew 1 hour 20 minutes from San Luis Obispo to Sacramento International to pick up my daughter. It was 96 degrees in Sac.  Geez.  Then on to Sutter Creek/Jackson Westover where it is about 96 degrees.  [Already longing for my 75 degree Pismo weather!!]  Mooney Ovation flew like a champ though.

I flew from BTR to RBD at last night to get the Mooney out before Tropical Storm Lee hit. I didn't get out till 1am because of the ASA CRJ-200 that landed with the left gear up (http://theadvocate.com/home/740523-79/airplanes-landing-gear-fails.html) and it took most of the night to get it off the runway and reopen the airport. On the plus side, I got cleared direct to RBD as soon as I called up Houston Center.

Everyone should go out and fly somewhere on Sunday in memory of the fallen on September 11th.  Me I plan on just going for a ride Sunday morning, the weather should be great here, to enjoy and exercise our freedom this is one way to prove the terrorists have not won.

We have a TFR over NYC.  We will have to wait to fly up the Hudson River Corridor.

ScottFI, The first place I flew after 9/11 (about 1 week later when professional sports resumed) was to see the Chiefs play the Giants at Arrowhead.  It was mighty cordial of the Chiefs to surrender...

We are surprisingly home this weekend!  Maggie is almost finished in paint, but maybe we will get the Ovation out for a spin on Sunday [metaphorically speaking]

Carusoam:  NICE!  I grew up in Wisconsin, so all is right with my world based on Pack on Thursday night vs. "Who Dat" gang.  Great game!  Sorry to hear that Dave, unless it's an Upgrade.  First flight with I-Pad.  My GPMS said she would part with it for a day.  Have fun everybody.  Should be great VFR weather in Midwest.
