Marauder Posted December 2, 2018 Report Posted December 2, 2018 Along with a new Leather interior I have decided to do a GUT job on the top of the line 1980's avionics!! o While you got this all apart, might be a good time to pull those yoke control rods and have them chromed or whatever coating they have on them. lotsofgadgets Posted December 2, 2018 Report Posted December 2, 2018 you will be spoiled with the Avidyne 550. makes flying IFR seem like cheating. If you haven't done so already, check out the free IFD intro video at avidynetraining.com. Gary Reeves does a nice job explaining the basics of the Avidyne interface. Also download the IFD trainer and IFD1000 app for your ipad. You can start to chair fly the new radio while your shop is busy wiring the real one. 2 Quote
Bryan Kahl Posted December 3, 2018 Report Posted December 3, 2018 Great choice! Not only with the IFD but Saint Aviation as well, you're in great hands! Bryan Kahl Director of Customer Experience Bkahl@avidyne.com Quote

David Lloyd Posted December 4, 2018 Report Posted December 4, 2018 That is going to be a nice looking panel. Please give a pirep later on the PAR200A audio panel/com radio. Jesse Saint & crew will do a terrific job, they are really nice people. From the VAF site, a number of times when someone was AOG in Florida, Jesse offered help, went and repaired. Side note, google Nate Saint, Jesse's either grandfather or uncle. Quote

MIm20c Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 @Bryan Kahl how close is Avidyne to the ifd/txi integration (stc legal)? @Frank Mooney is the angled iPad mount custom or can you buy it online? Quote
ArtVandelay Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 Phase 1 complete! Thanks to Saint Aviation they did an outstanding job! You’re missing the lower eyeball vent ?I think you’ll find the default brightness needs to be adjusted on the G5s, they were too bright during night ops, especially since the Avidyne seems too dim. TBoone Posted May 12, 2020 Report Posted May 12, 2020 I'm interested in this AC and would love to know its history and talk to the original owner. I owned a new 231 in 1980. Tom Fisher Granbury, TX Quote
carusoam Posted May 13, 2020 Report Posted May 13, 2020 Welcome aboard Tom, Where are you seeing the for sale sign? Seeing if inviting @Frank Mooney can get you an answer... Otherwise, finding the original owner from decades ago... looks kind of challenging... https://flightaware.com/resources/registration/N922PT Best regards, -a- Quote
TBoone Posted May 13, 2020 Report Posted May 13, 2020 Here it is: https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?listing_id=2379121# Is this not correct? Tom Fisher Quote
Greg Ellis Posted May 13, 2020 Report Posted May 13, 2020 It looks like the same aircraft but it also looks like, from the photos in the advertisement, that the panel went through another upgrade since the photos posted here in 2018. Quote
Jesse Saint Posted May 13, 2020 Report Posted May 13, 2020 The panel was upgraded again recently to add the Dynon Skyview HDX system. The TAP pictures have the current panel. Quote

Tom Fisher proof of the disturbance in the economy...? People typically upgrade their planes all the time... People typically sell planes for various reasons... People don’t typically upgrade a plane to sell it... A plane getting upgraded at a reputable shop... like Saint Aviation... is a good sign. Time to go see if the plane matches your needs..! As usual, independent PPIs are always recommended... PP thoughts only... Best regards, -a- Quote
