Yeah, it's my 3rd airplane and I've been feeding that same insanity for each one.  

As you know, it always starts with, "I really ought to..." and then turns into, "well, while I'm back here..."!

Something to bear in mind is that AC 43.13 can only be used IF there are no instructions from the manufacturer (maintenance manual, structural repair manual, SBs, etc.)

If one reads the opening paragragh of 43.13 under 1. PURPOSE

     it specifically says, in the first sentence, it can be used (quote) "only when there are no manufacturer repair or maintenance instructions" (End quote). 

It states further that it is for minor repairs by itself and as data to be refereed to on 337s for major repairs. The A&P still needs to determine if the repair is a major or minor item. Its his license at risk.
